PAC Holiday Breakfast On Saturday, December 18th, we hosted the first annual Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) holiday breakfast. Families from all five preschool sites gathered for a delicious homemade fruit crepes breakfast coupled with games, arts and crafts and door prizes!A huge thank you to our 2021-22 PAC parents for all that you have done for our program thus far, and for pushing through all the monthly zoom meetings. We appreciate you and it was great having everyone together in person for the first time. Look out for the upcoming PAC Picnic in Spring 2022, and other cool bonuses' families receive by participating in the committee.
Generous Community Partnership For the second year, our preschools partnered with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union to make the holiday season amazingly bright by providing holiday meals 100 of our ECE families, doubling our numbers from last year. Watching the distribution of two large bags full of turkeys, and all the fixings to feed a household, warmed the hearts of all who were there, but especially the families, who shared that they were eternally grateful for the generosity offered, especially in these tough economic times.
YMCA OF GREATER LONG BEACH
Holiday Magic Annually, our preschools host holiday events but 2021 was the best yet! Each preschool team worked hard to prepare for their winter wonderlands and holiday concerts, to uplift all our spirits and create fun memories for children and families. Long Beach Sparks of Love & LBPD provided dozens of families with gifts for the entire family at Play & Learn Preschool; First Friendships, 70th Street, Creative Beginnings and Mayne preschools all provided every enrolled child with at least one STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) themed gift from Lakeshore Learning, thanks to funds collected from our generous donors during the 2021 annual campaign. There were even bonus gifts from the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce who hosted a toy drive for their holiday social, and LBUSD Child Development Centers, who delivered some overstock children's toys in the final hour.
