A MESSAGE FROM OUR BOARD CHAIR... A heart felt THANK YOU to all who gave to the YMCA’s Annual Campaign last year! Because of you, the YMCA can reach its goal as a non-profit organization to serve the greatest needs of our local community. The Board of Advisors and staff of the Dan McKinney and Shepherd Family YMCA’s have made commitments to serve more families in this coming year as the need continues to grow. We hope you will join us in this cause. Next year will bring a new story to be written about the impact our YMCA has on the community. How will the YMCA develop our youth through impactful mentorship? How Susan Botticelli many new scholarships will be provided to families needing a bit of assistance to get by? How many lives will the YMCA save by teaching kids to swim? How can we give in a way which supports the YMCA’s impact on developing social responsibility in us all? These are big questions, but what I know for sure is that I want to be part of this story. I want to be a part of the success. I want to give personally and generously. I want to share the YMCA stories with others so that they might have the chance to give to this wonderful organization. How will you join me in writing the story this year? It has been my highest honor serving as a YMCA volunteer for 13 years as a board member, committee volunteer, event organizer, fund raiser and community advocate sharing stories of how the YMCA changes lives in our local community.

THERE’S A Y IN EVERY FAMILY I am truly grateful for the scholarship I have received and can’t thank you enough for how much it has continued to help my family. I am the main provider for my family and sometimes this can be very taxing - physically and mentally. I lost my son to cancer in 2014 just weeks after my brother in law was diagnosed with Leukemia. Recently, I’ve had to take in my parents due to health. The YMCA has been a saving grace for me in all that life has thrown at us. Knowing that there is a place where we as a family can work on both mental & physical health, has made a world of difference in our lives.
