I grew up in a very poor neighborhood of a city in north Africa. Raised by my mother and father in a Muslim household, they worked hard to provide for my brother and I until my father died when I was in high school. My mother is a homemaker, so I was the only one to step up.
Working part time and attending high school was a big challenge and I had to grow up faster than other kids to take on the responsibilities of my father As a recipient of the Developing Global Leaders scholarship, I want to be the first person in my family to complete university and better be able to provide for my family. I love design and working with computers and am studying to be a graphic designer at a local university. I plan to continue to serve kids through Young Life and help others in the same way I was helped.
