.K. Almoayyed & Sons welcomes new opportunities that the season brings along. The past couple of months have proven that we have a great team with us. We had organised various competitions like the Ramadan E-Card Competition as an initiative to the children of Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons, our Masaken Project dedicated to the single women has been running smoothly. We aim at adding to the customers’ service experience; hence, we have opened doors to our refurbished lounge at Sitra. With enhanced amenities comes immense customer satisfaction. We have had the honour of receiving many awards and none of this would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of all the employees here. Nissan has done a tremendous job in Bahrain and I would like to take this opportunity and thank everyone for their efforts. Let us all look forward to the coming months with hope and determination. We at Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons would like to present our refreshed YK Magazine, filled with lifestyle, articles and interviews with eminent figures of the organisation, beginning with Mohammed Farouk Almoayyed. We also have the Employee Centric and Corporate Centric pages that highlight our achievements. The magazine shows us how wonderful we are as a family and I could not have been more proud! Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons EDMAJ sponsored an Iftar for the orphans of the Islamic Enlighten Society for the third time this year. Over one hundred boys attended the event and enjoyed the wide array of buffet, games and giveaways. “Our EDMAJ programme is dedicated to extending support to the Bahraini community and to making a difference, and every year, we look forward to hosting our Iftar and putting a smile on the faces of our young guests”, said Sonu Duggal, Group HR Manager of YKA.

DMAJ Programme was launched by Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons in September 2010 to fuse Corporate Social Resposibility (CSR) and Employee Engagement and help reinforce CSR through their various initiatives that are planned and implemented with the co-operation and participation of employees. EDMAJ’s main focus is to fulfill Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons’ responsibility towards Bahrain’s community, and it strives to provide support to various charity works and events.
Breast Cancer Awareness
Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons made a donation to the American Mission Hospital’s Breast Cancer programme that focuses on spreading awareness on one of the most common forms of cancer that affect millions of women each year. In this programme, the women of Bahrain are educated on the risks and symptoms and what preventive measures can be taken.

The Explorer’s EPAS system allows for variable rates of assistance based on speed, turn-in and direction. Along with that, the EPAS also enables a competitive turning radius for optimum maneuverability in parking situations, combined with increased assistance at low speeds for parking ease and a new feature called the Curve Control. It senses when a driver enters a turn too quickly and applies brake pressure to stabilise the vehicle. H
ow were you encouraged to get into the family business? The family business was part of my upbringing, and there was no direct push or pressure to enter into it. I remember sitting with my grandfather and even overhearing business discussions over lunch with my father. From a child’s perspective it sounded fun, exciting and most of all fulfilling and that is what encouraged me the most. The year I came back from university I began working at Almoayyed International Group, and then began the next step of my career by working at YKA around 2 years ago.

Another major factor that was very important to me was having a very strong support structure to encourage me along the way. I honestly could not have continued throughout these years without the backing of my mother, father, brother and sisters, in addition to my aunts and uncle who together with my father form the backbone of the YKA business. Their support has been the key to my success; their trust in my judgments and the confidence they have afforded me has helped me achieve my goals, and I am proud to be a part of this family.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced? The heart of any organization is the talent found in its workforce. Being able to motivate and communicate with the people that make up our business in addition to aligning our vision has been one of my greatest challenges.

Being recognized for my achievements, especially by my father aunts and uncle means a great deal to me and helps me strive for the best on a daily basis.

Nissan set the Guinness World Record title at the Dubai International for the ‘Largest Illuminated Indoor Advertising Sign’. hat are the various nationalities present at YKA? Sonu Duggal (SD): There are currently 15 different nationalities at Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons. • Bahraini – 386 – 35.44% • Indian – 626 – 57.48 % • Filipino – 24 – 2.2% • Nepali – 16 – 1.47% • Others – 3.4% What is the importance of having diversity at the workplace? SD: A diverse workforce is a reflection of the changing world and market place. Y.K. What challenges do you face when you train employees? How do you overcome it? Faisal Al Asfoor (FA): Training and Development is one of the key fundamentals of any successful business. One of the greatest challenges we face is language. The training programmes provided are limited

to only Arabic or English. We stress on the training of English language programmes for Bahraini colleagues. Another challenge is the coordination with the departments’ managers to release the employees for training on the days that they are short of employees. It becomes a matter of proposition and the importance of the training presented against the immediate filling of the attendance roaster on the job. We strive to help our employees make their professional life easy when faced with challenges. What is your opinion on hiring the younger generation at YKA? SD: We strongly encourage hiring the younger generation at YKA. Internship Programme – Every year we provide internships to 10 students or fresh university graduates and extend employment offers to some of them who excel during training. NIIT / Tamkeen train to recruit scheme – We have tied up with Tamkeen and NIIT to train and recruit 30 young Bahrainis as automobile technicians over a period of 2-3 years. The first batch of 10 technicians will finish their one-year training course in September and will join from October 2013. E&Y / Tamkeen train to recruit scheme – We have tied up with Tamkeen and E&Y to
train and recruit 5 young and fresh university graduates in finance and accounting jobs. MOL employment scheme - We regularly employ candidates through various schemes of Ministry of Labor Career Fairs – We participate in annual career fairs organised by BTI, University of Bahrain and Ministry of Labor. What are the various training programmes offered at YKA? FA: We have shifted our focus to training programmes relating to brands and product knowledge and customer satisfaction. We also provide employees with training programmes that are recognised and accredited internationally to ensure that the certificates achieved by the employees holds more creditability to prove the skills gained. What do you hope to achieve by bringing people from different cultures together? SD: Diversity helps us improve productivity, creativity and problem solving at the work place. It brings together different talents and uses different skill sets that increase the productivity. More innovative solutions arise as every individual contributes their own way of thinking, problem-solving and decisionmaking

What is your biggest strength? My greatest strength has been my ability to work under challenging and extremely diverse conditions, such as the first project with Citibank’s Regional headquarters building in 1998-2000. The technical team that I built was by picking up good young raw engineers and training them to carry out challenging project assignments. I also believe that each of us possess something unique and different which can greatly contribute to the team effort.
Being a leader means to be able to bring out the best strength of each individual.
What are the challenges you have faced in your career and how did you overcome them? The challenges were in building the foundation blocks from scratch whenever a new initiative was embarked upon. These were typically to convince consultants and clients to approve the brands proposed by us at the start since we did not have any project references. Other challenges were on project execution where we were always fighting against time to complete the projects. Being a small world out here, it is a relationship driven business and therefore maintaining good relations with clients, consultants and contractors is very important. So, my approach has always been customer
driven and non confrontational. This is one of the reason that the majority of our customers come back to us with repeat orders. Where do you see YKA-IBS couple of years down the line? The foundation is strong with good products, and an excellent team. Our foundation in Qatar is being built for the last 1-2 years and in anticipation of the FIFA 2022 Football Cup; the boom is expected sometime next year. The IBS team is geared to grab the opportunities. In what ways is green lighting the future? In order to conserve energy, we need to be environmentally friendly and thereby increase the longevity of our planet. Therefore, it is imperative to put to use technologies which are energy efficient and smart. Lighting is a major constituent, and so, we have embarked on medium and long term initiatives with ETAP Belgium to provide our customers energy efficient green lighting solutions to help them save on energy bills ď‚Ą

ell us about your journey with Almoayyed. I have always been a person who loved a challenge and decided it was time to move to a different country. So, with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and over 5 years of work experience in India, I joined Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons in March 1983 when I was 28 years old. I have not looked back since. I am passionate of the work I do with YKA and have enjoyed every single day here. Our Chairman, Mr Farouk Almoayyed, is a visionary leader, a great motivator and has always encouraged creativity. Also, our Managing Director, Mrs Mona Almoayyed, to whom I reported during the period 19982005, is a great listener, meticulous and possesses an excellent business sense. I am grateful to them for helping me grow.
What strategy do you implement to get the best of the team? Well, to be able to lead a team successfully, one must involve the entire team in each and every move and make sure every member is an important constituent of the plan and process. Being a leader means to be able to bring out the best strength of each individual. I try my best to motivate the team by encouraging them to come up with ideas and innovative ways to achieve the set goal. Honesty, being sincere and transparent in your dealings, demonstrating an impeccable integrity in all that you do- If you be have these qualities, you can inspire an entire team.

لطالما كنت شخصا شغوفا بالتحدي وقررت أن الوقت قد حان لالنتقال إلى دولة أخرى غير موطني ،وبدرجة البكالوريوس في مجال الهندسة الميكانيكية وخبرة تزيد على خمس سنوات في الهند؛ التحقت بالعمل لدى يوسف خليل المؤيد في مارس ١٩٨٣وحينها كنت أبلغ من العمر ٢٨عاما .وفي الواقع أنا شغوف بالعمل الذي أقوم به هنا في مجموعة YKAكما أنني استمتع بكل يوم هنا. إن رئيس المجموعة؛ السيد فاروق المؤيد، قائد ذو نظرة ثاقبة ومحفز كبير ولطالما شجع اإلبداع في العمل ،وكذلك المدير العام السيدة منى المؤيد -التي كنت تحت إمرتها خالل الفترة ٢٠٠٥ - ١٩٩٨مستمعة ممتازة ودقيقة في عملها وتمتلك حسا تجاريا عاليا ،وأنا ممتن لهما لمساعدتهما لي على الوصول إلى ما أنا عليه اليوم.
ما هي نقاط القوة التي تتمتع بها؟
لتكون قادرا على قيادة فريق بنجاح؛ البد من إشراك جميع أفراده في كل خطوة والتأكيد على أهمية كل فرد فيه في تنفيذ الخطة الموضوعة وسير العمل؛ فكونك قائدا يعني أن تكون قادرا على إظهار مكامن القوة لدى كل فرد؛ وبالنسبة إلي ،أنا أبذل قصارى جهدي لتحفيز فريق العمل عن طريق تشجيعهم لتقديم أفكار وطرق مبتكرة في سبيل تحقيق الهدف المحدد ،كما أن تمتعك بالصدق واإلخالص والشفافية في تعامالتك والنزاهة ،جميعها صفات تلهم فريق العمل بأكمله.
ما هي التحديات التي واجهتها في عملك؛ وكيف تغلبت عليها؟ كانت التحديات في بناء لبنات األساس من الصفر لكل مشروع جديد نبدأ في تنفيذه ،ومن بينها إقناع االستشاريين والعمالء للموافقة على العالمات التجارية التي نقترحها منذ البداية كوننا ال نملك أية مراجع للمشروع؛ وكذلك من بين التحديات ما يظهر أثناء تنفيذ المشروع وعلى رأسها االلتزام بموعد استكمال وتسليم المشاريع. ونظرا لصغر مساحة السوق هنا؛ تتحكم العالقات في األعمال ،ولذلك يعد الحفاظ على عالقات جيدة مع العمالء واالستشاريين والمقاولين أمرا مهما للغاية؛ ومن أجل ذلك أتبنى توجها غير تصادمي ويسعى إلى خدمة
العمالء ،وهذا هو أحد األسباب التي تدفع بعمالئنا إلى تكرار التعامل معنا.

برنامج التدريب الداخلي :في كل عام نوفر 10 منح للتدريب الداخلي لعشرة طالب أو من خريجي الجامعات الجدد ،وقد تتوسع تلك المنحة إلى تقديم عروض عمل لبعض الذين يتميزون خالل فترة التدريب. برنامج \ NIITتمكين للتدريب :لقد وقعنا اتفاقية مع NIITوتمكين لتدريب وتوظيف 30شابا بحرينيا كفنيي سيارات لمدة تتراوح بين سنتين وثالث سنوات ،ومن المقرر أن تنهي الدفعة األولى التي تتكون من 10فنيين الدورة التدريبية التي نظمت لمدة عام في شهر سبتمبر وتنظم إلينا بدءا من أكتوبر .2013 برنامج ارنست ويونغ\ تمكين للتدريب :وقعنا

محمـد الـمـؤيد الرجل الملهم؛ محمد المؤيد يتحدث عن شغفه تجاه ما يقوم به كل يوم.
ما
الذي شجعك على الدخول في مجال األعمال التجارية العائلية؟
لطالما كانت الشركات العائلية جزءا من نشأتي ولم يكن هناك أي ضغط أو توجيه من أسرتي لدخولي لهذا المجال؛ الزلت أتذكر حين كنت أجلس مع جدي وأصغي إلى مناقشاته التجارية أثناء تناول الغداء ،ومن وجهة نظر طفل كان األمر يبدو ممتعا ومثيرا لالهتمام واألهم من ذلك مرضيا؛ وقد شجعني هذا األمر كثيرا على البدء في العمل لدى مجموعة المؤيد الدولية بعد أن تخرجت من الجامعة ،ثم االنتقال إلى مجموعة شركات يوسف خليل المؤيد وأوالده منذ حوالي العامين.
إن قلب أي مؤسسة هو وجود المواهب بين قواها العاملة وثمة عامل مهم آخر وهو توفر الدعم القوي والمستمر إلى طوال الوقت .وصدقا لم أكن الصل إلى ما وصلت إليه خالل هذه السنوات دون دعم أمي وأبي وأخي وأخواتي؛ فضال عن تشجيع عماتي وأعمامي الذين بنوا مع والدي أساس مجموعة يوسف خليل المؤيد؛ إذ ساعدتني ثقتهم في قراراتي وإيمانهم بقدراتي على تحقيق أهدافي وأنا فخور بأن أكون جزءا من هذه العائلة.

لقاء ما هو أكثر إنجاز تفخر بتحقيقه في حياتك المهنية؟ أكثر إنجاز أفخر به هو تأسيس عملي الخاص عبر مشروع صغير كتب له النجاح؛ وبات لي مدخولي المستقل عبر هذه الخطوة؛ وقد كانت خطوة هامة بالنسبة لمسيرتي المهنية ومدعاة للفخر.
ما هي أكبر التحديات التي واجهتك؟ إن قلب أي مؤسسة هو وجود المواهب بين قواها العاملة؛ وأن أكون قادرا على التحفيز والتواصل مع األشخاص الذين يشكلون عصب عملنا؛ باإلضافة إلى التوفيق بين رؤاي ورؤاهم هو واحد من أكبر التحديات بالنسبة إلي.
ما الذي يبقيك متحفزا؟ إن رؤية األعمال تنمو منذ لحظة تأسيسها إلى مراحل ازدهارها واستقراراها؛ أمر يمنح أي رجل أعمال إحساسا بالرضا؛ وبالتأكيد ذلك يمنحني دافعا لمزيد من التوسع في أعمالنا ويلهمني السعي إلى مزيد من التقدم؛ وبالتأكيد فإن اإلشادة بإنجازاتي خاصة مقبل والدي وأعمامي وعماتي؛ أمر يعني لي الكثير ويدفعني إلى اإلصرار على تحقيق األفضل يوميا.
ما هي الصفات الشخصية التي تتميز بها والتي أسهمت في نجاحك؟ اعتقد أن أكثر ما يميزني هو قدرتي على تكليف الموظفين باألعمال وليس القيام بكل شيء بنفسي؛ باإلضافة إلى تمكني من تمييز حجم الشغف الحقيقي الذي يحمله الشخص
تجاه الفكرة التي يعرضها علي؛ أنا أدرك عدم وجود ما يسمى بالمدير أو الموظف المثالي وأتقبل األخطاء ،وبناء على ذلك؛ احرص على إسناد المهام المختلفة إلى أشخاص مختلفين وفقا لمهاراتهم وما يتقنون القيام به .في عملي؛ أنا أحرص على توضيح األهداف المطلوبة للمدراء ،ومنحهم الصالحيات الكافية التي تساعدهم على تحقيقها؛ وكذلك أحاول اإلصغاء إلى الموظفين والوساطة بينهم لتسهيل حل لنزاعاتهم وضمان سير العمل بأكبر قدر ممكن من السهولة واالنسيابية.
لو أتيحت لك الفرصة لاللتقاء بشخصية تاريخية؛ فمن ستكون تلك الشخصية ولماذا؟
بالتأكيد سأختار االلتقاء بستيف جوبز؛ فقد كان متفانيا وشغوفا بعمله ،وقادرا على رؤية أمور ال تخطر على بال أحد وتلك هي الصفات التي تثير إعجابي به؛ وعلى الرغم من عيوبه ( وال أحد خال من العيوب) إال أنه خلق ثورة تكنولوجية غيرت نظرة وطرق استخدام الناس إلى التكنولوجيا.
ما هي األنشطة التي بممارستها في وقت فراغك؟
تستمتع
استمتع بمجموعة مختلفة من األنشطة الرياضية من بينها كرة القدم والتنس واالسكواش والمالكمة التايلندية؛ كما أنني مهتم بالقراءة وتخصيص بعض الوقت لعائلتي وأصدقائي.
ما هي نصيحتك ألي شخص مبتدئ في مجال األعمال؟ يجب على كل شخص يبدأ عمله الخاص أن يكون شغوفا به بما يسمح له بالمواصلة فيه؛ كما أنه في حاجة إلى وضع قائمة باألولويات وإدراك أنه في البداية سيقوم بأدوار متعددة ولن يحتاج إلى توظيف عدد كبير من الموظفين؛ فالبدء صغيرا والنمو مع مشروعك هو جانب مهم في أي عملك جديد. ومن الجوانب المهمة أيضا حين بدء العمل التجاري بالشراكة مع شخص آخر هو اختيار شريك مناسب؛فمعرفة معايير شريكك األخالقية والمعنوية ووضع توقعات واضحة منذ البداية أمر أساسي؛ إذ أن الغموض ال يؤدي إال إلى الصراع والفشل

حفل إفطار لجمعية التوعية اإلسالمية
أقام برنامج إدماج من مجموعة شركات يوسف خليل المؤيد و أوالده يوسف خليل المؤيد وأوالده حفل إفطار لاليتام في جمعية التوعية االسالمية للمرة الثالثة هذا العام؛ وقد حضر الحفل أكثر من 100طفل واستمتعوا بالبوفيه المتنوع واأللعاب والهدايا .ومن جانبه قال السيد سونو دوجال؛ مدير الموارد البشرية في مجموعة " YKAلقد كرسنا برنامج إدماج لتقديم الدعم إلى المجتمع البحريني وإحداث فرق فيه ،وفي كل عام نحن نتطلع إلى استضافة حفل اإلفطار هذا لإلسهام في رسم االبتسامة على وجوه ضيوفنا الصغار".

إطالق برنامج إدماج من قبل مجموعة شركات يوسف خليل المؤيد و أوالده يوسف خليل المؤيد وأوالده في سبتمبر 2010سعيا إلى ادماج الشركة في المسؤولية االجتماعية ( )CSRومشاركة الموظفين والعمل على تعزيز تلك المسؤولية من خالل المبادرات المختلفة التي يتم التخطيط لها وتنفيذها بتعاون ومشاركة من الموظفين. ويركز برنامج إدماج بالدرجة األولى على وفاء شركة يوسف خليل المؤيد وأوالده بمسؤوليتها تجاه المجتمع البحريني ،وسعيها الحثيث نحو توفير الدعم لمختلف األعمال والفعاليات الخيرية.
التوعية برنامج بسرطان الثدي
قدمت مجموعة شركات يوسف خليل المؤيد و أوالده يوسف خليل المؤيد وأوالده تبرعا لبرنامج "التوعية بسرطان الثدي" الذي ينظمه مستشفى اإلرسالية األمريكية والذي يركز على نشر الوعي بأحد األمراض السرطانية األكثر شيوعا والذي يؤثر على ماليين النساء كل عام .يهدف هذا البرنامج إلى تثقيف النساء في مملكة البحرين بمخاطر هذا المرض وأعراضه المصاحبة له ،إضافة إلى التدابير الوقائية التي يمكن اتخاذها.
تكريم المتدربين
تم تكريم ثمانية متدربين عملوا في أقسام المجموعة المختلفة نظير عملهم الجاد والتزامهم وتفانيهم؛ وشمل التكريم متدربين من طلبة المدارس الجامعة وطلبة الثانوية وحديثي التخرج الذين يبحثون عن تجارب الحياة الحقيقية وفرص العمل؛ وقد منحت السيدة منى المؤيد المدير العام لشركة يوسف خليل المؤيد وأوالده المشاركين في البرنامج شهادات التكريم.
