Almoayyed & Sons shall not miss any of them. We stand strong as usual and gear up to take on the challenges that wait ahead. L ooking back over the past few months, I am pleased to see how much we’ve achieved as a team and a family. Our home-grown Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Charity kept themselves busy with a number of charitable causes, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan, making as much contribution to our community as possible. In addition, we carried on our EDMAJ programme as part of our CSR policy, encouraging sustainable business initiatives that facilitate our society. Across our divisions, our skilled staff attended intensive trainings programmes and continued to grow professionally, and their outstanding performances were appreciated and rewarded. On a commercial level, I would like to congratulate Ashrafs on completing their new business tower – yet another step forward for the excellent brand. And, the “Kenwood B est Digital/Social Media Campaign 2013” award for YKA-EHA division was a great recognition. In this issue, we speak to (and learn from) some of our finest executives including Amal Almoayyed, Ashrafs Executive Director, C.V. Pradeep; General Manager at YKA Trading in Dubai; and S. I have always believed that the biggest asset to the organisation is the human capital. After all, a company is all about a set of people. I stay connected to my staff through an open door policy. Also, being connected with the staff helps me identify the right talent for the right job. As for the customers, we have systems in place where we regularly

Back to School: Free Supplies Drive As part of its mission to reach out to the community, Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Charity Society launched an internal campaign where they distributed school bags to the children of their staff. This initiative also served as a token of gratitude from YKA to its employees for their continuous efforts and dedication. Salwa Almoayyed, a member of the Charity Society and Director at YKA, commented “We would like to congratulate the students for starting a new academic year, and are eager to see them strive in their education and be a part of the prosperity and development of Bahrain.”

Employees Contribute in the Blood Donation Campaign A Blood Donation Campaign was held at Salmaniya Medical Hospital where 115 of YKA’s staff participated in the event. Mona Almoayyed, YKA Managing Director, commented, “Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons Group is committed to serving its community, and every year, we extend our support by hosting blood donations in coordination with The Central Blood Bank of Bahrain. Blood donation is a key element in health care services that reaps benefits on a large scale, and we are proud to initiate this movement and involve our staff.” Over the past six years, YKA has been organising regular blood donation campaigns where hundreds of its employees have donated valuable drops of life in aid of the Bahraini community.

Giving Back to Society YKA has been fulfilling its social responsibility role in Bahrain since its inception, and now has a specialised team that supports various charity sectors including societies, orphans, and individuals with special needs.

Donation to Garnata Primary Girls School Yousif and Aysha Almoayyed Charity donated a car to the Migrant Workers Protection Society (MWPS) as a means to support their continuous efforts and facilitate their needs. The charity group, a subsidiary of Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons solely dedicated to aiding the community, donated the 2014 Nissan Sunny during a special ceremony hosted at Nissan Showroom in Sitra. Salwa Almoayyed, Head of the Charity, handed the car keys to Marietta Diaz, Head of MWPS, in the presence of MWPS General Secretary Beverley Hamadeh, the YKA representatives, and Nissan Bahrain General Manager Paul Baker, among others.

Ramadan, a Time for Generosity Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Charity teamed up with the Bahrain Charity Society for the Holy Month of Ramadan, lending a helping hand to the families in need across Bahrain. The food donations and cash tokens, funded with the financial support from the YKA based charity, were distributed ahead of Eid Al Fitr celebrations. The donation drive was one of several projects that the charity was involved in throughout Ramadan, accumulating funds of up to BD 24,000.

“A Dream without Limits” Book Launch The inauguration of the new book, “A Dream without Limits” published by the Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Charity Society was held at Al Riwaq Gallery, Adliya, in collaboration with The Women Professional Network. The event featured art works and paintings from The Bahrain Mobility Center and The Bahrain Down Syndrome Society. All the proceeds from the books and painting sales were directed to the charitable societies involved in the event. The new publication chronicles the story of Ali Mohammed Moosa, who was born with physical disabilities.

In your view, what is the best strategy for a sustainable business in the UAE’s competitive and unpredictable market? UAE, as you know, is a dynamic market, so one should be able to adapt very quickly to its volatility with aggressive pricing offers and promotions. The agility to shift gears quickly and move along with changing market conditions is very important to sustain a business. I consider it a great success that we’ve been able to gain market share while the market itself has been flat for over five years. The seamless, high service levels keep the customers happy and bring about repeat purchases, in addition to efficient word of mouth marketing. So, service department has a great influence on the incremental sales of the dealership. What is your approach to ensuring maximum customer satisfaction and loyalty? We focus on providing the best ownership experience through constant communication with our customers and attention to their feedback, in addition to a regular re-evaluation of our internal systems and processes. We use every opportunity to

The most basic service we provide is the periodic maintenance service offered for all cars, which is mandatory in order to ensure maximum performance and safety at all times. YKA has brought this facility to the customers’ doorsteps; instead of fighting busy traffic on their way to our Sitra main branch, they can reach one of our network service centres within 15 minutes driving distance – in Arad, Salmabad, Manama, or Hamad Town.

Do you have any special services or products that make your service centres stand out? Can you tell us more about the luxury features available at your Sitra branch? We implement the ‘service while you wait’ concept at all our centres. As our technical staff delivers a quick service, while not compromising on quality, we encourage

our customers to relax at our luxurious waiting lounge equipped with refreshments, live satellite television, massage chairs, and updated reading materials. We also offer a ‘drop and pick up’ service from more prominent locations where the customers leave their cars for more serious maintenance. For our premium Infiniti customers, we also provide free courtesy cars when they bring their vehicles for service. In your view, how important is the service department for the car dealership’s operations?

What are the biggest strengths of your team? My team members are frequently trained by the principal companies and internally so that they are always up to date and motivated. Generally speaking, they work according to three basic principles: sense of urgency, customer focus, and quick communication – used both within the organisation and in the customer interactions so as to avoid any service delays. In your experience, what part of working in the automobile industry is the most rewarding? Positive customer feedback and subsequent repeat and referral car sales are a huge source of job satisfaction to me 

Bidding Farewell

Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons bid farewell to seven long-serving staff members during a ceremony where cash prizes were given away as tokens of the company’s gratitude. Present at the function, Mona Almoayyed, Managing Director at YKA thanked the retiring employees for their commitment and wished them the very best in their future.

Nissan X-Trail Training

The three-day training was held for the Nissan X-Trail, which incorporated innovative training ideas, including the ‘competition static and dynamic evaluation’, with five competitor vehicles tested against the X-Trail. In conclusion, the X-Trail performed better, leaving competition far behind and carrying a better Value for Money tag.

Annual Training for Nissan and Infiniti

Nissan Gulf FZCo (NGF) organised the Annual Extended Warranty training and awards ceremony, last June for Nissan and Infiniti franchises, in cooperation with GAP Gulf. Nissan’s Yogesh Sachde and Hussain Hawaj, and Infiniti’s Mohammed Zumail were named the top winners for this ‘add-on of significance to any vehicle’ sales spree.

YKA Employees Attend EMIC Training

A Supervisory Development Programme was organised for twelve employees across YKA’s divisions and groups, put forth by EMIC Training. The course consisted of five modules and focused on understanding and building leadership skills, and utilised handson learning tools.
