I’m eager to spread the idea that image-making can be a powerful language that can be employed in a variety of settings. It motivates me to study Illustration as my BA major. I choose to read and investigate outside of art and design to further my talents, with a concentration on society and literature. As a result, the majority of my work consists of a conversion from narrative to illustration or an introduction of social phenomena. Wish you can enjoy my work.

Project 1 Stamp design When the consumerism creates a “memorable” good for the moment, the only way to demolish the construction is to disintegrate it from within in its own word, that is to recreate a monumental pop art “stamp” to refer back to the past. I simply here to capture some mundane but important customs in my father’s hometown. Using this way to call for understanding, respects, more communications between locals and new comers.

Developing

The stamp illustration depicts table manners in DaBie Mountain, Anhui, where the main course has to be served with two scoops or twice in any other method. Because there is only one scoop, this meal is meant for non-humans, such as gods or ghosts. People in Anhui, China, value gourmet food and give thanks to the gods of nature; these are two extremely essential aspects of their daily lives.

Here’s option A. and B.. Which one can you see a table? A drawn desk doesn’t function as a real table, the reason mostly is because it is in 2 dimension. But a ceramic mini table won’t work well either since it is too vulnerable and too small.

In this project I try to explore how image-making work in 2 and 3 dimension. fig. table, tiles. glazed ceramics.

It is a project for designing collage mateials based on prompts provided by children in year 4 at Oliver Goldsmith Primary School. I took reference from an article I liked very much, Simon Nicholson’s The Theory of Loose Parts, to make this work.

Project 6 narrative illustration I’ve been working on this project for a while now. It is a story set in a replicated traditional Chinese village in the near future, inspired by the Japanese ancient fairy tale Kaguyahime. The protagonist didn’t seem to find any strange details in his regular life.
