The current city is already overpopulated and the process of reorganizing it with a new plan is unnecessary. Create a new infrastructure in the city to blend in with the components of the existing city and to provide programs that match the future city. People use the newly formed grid as if they were surfing the Internet in an intellectual curiosity to constantly get new information. Direct movement of frames leads to data acquisition, and alternating current takes place in spherical spaces at intersecting points between frames. When the size of the basic sphere increases and exceeds the unit grid value, space appears that has the intersection nature of the spherical space and the moving-line nature of the frame at the same time. The axis of the new plane will be formed and the space of various sizes will be penetrated to have various programs. Just as the current Internet network connects the world, the new structure allows people to travel and collect information. First, it is made from roads, which are empty spaces in the city. As people gather and move more, the nature of the space changes, just as space starts to expand and change at existing travel routes and intersections.

Based on past and current artworks and architectures, provide a new infrastructure of knowledge.

Process 01

Only the horizontal connection is zoned to connect different spheres.

Process 02

It is possible to move vertically in the first line of movement.

Process 03

The sphere increases and the movement lines increase accordingly.

Process 04

The larger sphere has an additional sphere attached to the original one.

Data Hunting & Gathering Society

Process 05

The biggest space that exceeds the critical value makes a new space type.

Phase 01

Provide a pathway and link between buildings and streets.

Section Diagram 01

The platform is connected to the platform from inside the store due to the relationship between the platform and the store.

Seoul City has a total of 64 supermarkets. Among them, 22 operate cultural centers. At the entrance of all markets are local convenience stores such as pharmacies and eyeglasses shops. Although supermarkets have an essential impact on the lives of urbanites, the programs are vertically disconnected.

Section Diagram 02

The extremely uniformized method of the spatial composition increases the density and increases the efficiency of the program. However, people who experience space are difficult to locate. A new space is proposed for locating individuals and for active movement through promenade traffic.

The relationship between the platform and the stores enclose the platform, the store is extended to the platform.

Design Process 01

Set up an increasing or decreasing land that can be seen all at one point.

Market-Hill

Design Process 02

Arrange store units and establish relationships in consideration of the platform and movement lines.

A variety of programs can occur through platform space where you can experience more than buying a product. Visiting various types of stores such as large discount stores, low-cost daily necessities stores, concept stores, and luxury stores, drawing diagrams, and analyzing product arrangements and movements based on the drawings. It starts with an unspecified virtual, rectangular volume similar to an existing mart. Propose a new supermarket by mixing the operation logic of the existing hypermarket and additional programs.

Design Process 03

Establish a connection relationship with the platform through the height of the stores unit.

It is a competition to design a house for the JOREJICK family living in Tanzania. A family of 4 generations and 14 members currently live in the house. The first thing to start with to design a home that is suitable for a limited budget, members, culture, and climate is to clarify the boundaries of the House. Due to the geographic nature of the site, the periphery is not distinguished. As a result, the boundary between the interior and exterior, residence and non-residence are unclear. The area where the circles crossing both ends of the site overlap becomes the main driveway at the same location as before. Based on this, each bedroom becomes a unit and sticks out. Besides, each stem derived from the main driveway forms a water stream for water and drainage. Each bedroom is structured as an independent room. Hardwood, which can be easily obtained, is used as a structure and at the same time used as furniture. The corrugated PVC sheet used as an external finishing material changes whether it is permeable or not and adjusts the connection relationship with the external space.

The artists home (formerly Seoul National University headquarter) is geographically and historically significant, but currently, three sides are surrounded by roads and the main entrance road is blocked by trees to show its presence. Pull the main entrance out long and outwards to induce spontaneous entry of people passing through Maronier Park. The entire building will be connected to the inside and outside of the building through diverse lamps that travel through the existing building and four divided mass; two separated permanent and special exhibition masses. By using various types of concrete such as wood texture concrete, light-transmitting concrete, exposed concrete, and vertical garden concrete, people even pass around the building can enjoy various materials. Therefore, the building can carry out the main purpose of the architectural museum that educates architecture to every people and easy access to the building. Also, it is possible to display the exhibition by different level depending on space. The gap in volume and height between permanent and special exhibition halls will effectively conduct plentiful exhibitions.

The site is located in front of Maronier Park, but people do not use the building because the trees cover their eyes.

Seoul Public Pavilion Seoul City Road Museum Project [2018 October]

Type : Pavilion Group Project

Role : Site Analysis, Material Study, Fabrication, Docent

Site : Jeongneung-ro 16, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea

Professor : Park Mi-Ye

The project starts with determining a site near the university. Overpasses, located near the school, provide transportation convenience, but are just concrete blocks that create a dark environment in the neighborhood. This project transformed the dark and abandoned space under the overpass into a bright and colorful space. Stacking chameleon film and acrylic plates along the stairs. People can see the outer space through the empty area and feel the effect of penetrating and reflecting according to the distance and amount of light through the film.

The exhibition was held for two weeks. The student docents guided a tour to the residents and students. The tour explained the purpose of the project and the pavilion. After the tour, tourists responded to a survey to receive feedback on the perception of the existing overpass and the changed atmosphere through the newly installed pavilion. 85 percent of the participants, 101 out of 126 responded that the atmosphere of the space was refreshed by the pavilion. After the exhinition on the site, installed a pop-up booth at the Seoul City Hall to inform to more citizens and receive new opinions. The first attempt to move to make the abandoned space under the overpass into a comfortable environment into a sustainable plan has been completed. https:www.instagram.comgaro_saero
