“MOTIVATION”

I’m YEH,YI-YING I am writing to apply for the M.A. program of Visual Design at Scuola Politecnica di Design (SPD) in Milano, as I am interested in visual design. I wish I can be an excellent designer and go further in this field. While in college, I majored in Textile design. During this time, there were many things that stretched me and called me to new growth. During the time at university, I liked to experiment with different materials to create flat or three-dimensional woven fabrics. Not only did I learned different characteristics with different fabrics from the produce process, but also be trained to use them to combine into a new design skill. I like the surface texture, and use different materials to create the visual impact, so I would like to further my study into the Visual Design sector.

COVE R LET TE R M O T I VAT I O N

The concept of my final project comes from “human’s sense organs”, mostly lead the viewer receives visual by the texture of fabrics, and tried to bring them an incredible visual impact. I also took up a position of implementation of planning and designing of exhibition spaces, learned how to communicate with vendors, and led the team planning the exhibition. After graduation from postgraduate degree, I expect myself have opportunity to get a job in Europe, in order to understand visual communication design and as well as how to operate design business in the European market. Italy is known for abundant exhibitions and gallery with both classic and contemporary art, by visiting galleries and exhibitions regularly, it will enable me to accumulate my own experience. By doing this can cultivate my aesthetic feel- ing, have also gained me better comprehension of cultural values. Combined with the Taiwanese culture and education, developing my own personal style. It is an important element to being a good visual designer in foreign country. Being the best school in the field, SPD is famous for its high standard of education. It would be a very good opportunity for me to further my education at SPD in a good learning atmosphere which enables me to meet and exchanges ideas with people. “GRADUATED EXHIBITION” - DESIGN OF PRODUCT DISPLAY

FINDING VOICE The concept of this work comes from sound waves, the louder the sound is, the audience can perceive the higher visual conflict. By using different kinds of yarns and weaving structures to create different patterns to have the visual impact. I use the interactive equipment to show the fabrics, let audiences touch the textile and yearn, to let them connect with the sounds and the visual impact. I would like to show that the Human senses are all connected.

I often wondered how to communicate with different ideas from different people and our intimate. To convey the perception of things or values. communication disorder/ the words misunderstood and emotional expression.

Instead of trying to design each icon as a separate entity, I think the icon as a part of one family. Use simple line to present containers of juice.
