Transporta on plays important role in economy of country.

Major transporta on in our country happens by road transport system. Due to worn out and obsolete road transport system, lack of fast and adequate public transport system people uses their own personal transport which leads to traffic jam, accidents, air and noise pollu on.

For construc on of road, it disturbs topography, vegeta on and land of that region. Construc on cost for making road is more.

There are many ways of transporta on but economical mode of transporta on is necessary. Water is considered as the one of the cheapest modes of transporta on and India have a 7,516-km long coastline. In water transporta on it does not require any investment for making the waterways.

It has largest carrying capacity and most suitable for carrying bulky goods over a long distance. There is need to develop infrastructure for water transporta on.

So, solve these problems there is need to develop the system. So, considering this aspect the study has been undertaken. The study put for development of infrastructure for cruise terminal to avoid the traffic issues and easy mode of transporta on. A cruise terminal, which may also be known a passenger terminal, marine terminal is a structure in a port where Cruise ship and possibly ferries pick up and drop off passengers and goods. Because of cruise terminal water transporta on happens easily and heavy transporta on by road which creates traffic jam on road is decrease with increase in water transporta on system.

The infrastructure of various cruise terminals was studied

from literature. Through case study of another cruise terminal which help to understanding terminal requirement.

The loca on is iden fied and site is selected according to live sites for terminal infrastructure, a er site analysis the proposed design is done. Tourism has been placed on a priority pla orm in India with the government to s mulate economic and social development since 19th century Tourism is travel for recrea on, leisure, religious, family or business purposes, usually for a limited dura on. It should be with interna onal travel, but may also refer to travel to another place within the same country.

Thereby transforming economics has been interna onally acknowledged.

Cruise tourism represents one such avenue where for reaching developments have been witnessed worldwide Cruise Tourism is traveling for leisure to various des na ons on a ship.

A Cruise Terminal is an infrastructure facility at a seaport where passengers transfer between ground transporta on and the facili es that allow them to board and disembark from cruise ship. Within the terminal, passengers purchase ckets, transfer their luggage, and go through security.

However, the public has always seen the waterfront as a place for scenic re-

crea on. Mixed-use developments offering retail, entertainment, aquariums, and other a rac ons have been located at the waterfront and integrated into the urban fabric. The domes c cruise tourism is a rela vely new phenomenon, although it is a well-known industry around the world.

Many coastal countries, par cularly island countries, are dependent on cruise tourism for their economic growth. With a 7,516-km long coastline, India has immense poten al to develop a domes c cruise industry, which could significantly contribute to economic growth of the country. Cruise tourism is gaining popularity now a day, for both social and leisure ac vi es and hence there is an immense opportunity to develop the domes c cruise sector in the country. The study is to provide infrastructure facility for water transport system. The study will the improve the transport facility and will address the issue related to transport system. It will also try to resolve the traffic problem of the region.

Indias tex les sector is one of the oldest industries in Indian economy da ng back several centuries. The tex le industry has two broad segment. The decentralized power loom and kni ng sector form the largest component of the tex les sector.

An idea of crea ng a one-stop solu on for weavers and traders in the city and surrounding area will help In-

dian saree market to flourish more in terms of availability of workers.

India has a rich cultural heritage of hand-loom industry and world famous workmanship of hand-woven tex les.

The processing and manufacturing of tex les was the second largest occupaon of India a er agriculture. The saree is one of the world’s oldest and perhaps the only surviving uns tched garment from the past. Over the millennia, it has not only become a sensuous, glamorous all- me-wear for women, but also

the ‘canvas’ for weavers and printers to create ar s c weaves, prints and jewelled or gold-silver embellishments.

Over a period of me, several ci es in India have become renowned saree manufacturing centres. Each centre is known for crea ng tradi onal sarees which have acquired their names not only from the ci es of their origin, but also from the weaving or prin ng techniques used or the mo fs, colors or designs u lized in their manufacture. Throughout the history of tex le

development in India, the saree connues to be produced on handlooms, power looms and in gigan c mills with the most modern machinery in all these famous ci es.

Even in the modern age, women con nue to buy sarees with great enthusiasm, especially during fes vals and wedding seasons.

The house of the cra sman is example of vernacular architecture, where the architecture evolved over a large span of me. The plan of weavers house developed from the livelihood need of the inhabitants. Built from local materials and available technology, they aptly cater to the needs of the crasman.

Naval architecture is the science of making a ship “FIT FOR PURPOSE”.

Naval architecture is a combina on of Art and Science. Naval architecture is the name given to the science and engineering of designing and manufacturing sea-going vessels such as ships, yachts, powerboats, steamers, tugs, fishing boats, barges, warships, cruise ships, icebreakers, and even submarines. In addi on to these, the study of naval architecture also deals with the design and manufacturing of offshore structures of all kinds whether commercial or military. Naval architecture is the science of making a ship fit for purpose and naval architect is an engineer component in naval architecture.

A naval architect specializes in every facet of mari me ac vi es such as dredging, shipment, and transporta on, offshore drilling, etc. This is the field that caters to the discipline of the shipping industry right from the research and development, designing, building, and repairing of all the above-men oned machines. The naval architect is not only responsible for the development aspect, but also for the economic feasibility, values, and safety of the marine vessels and related units. Though the profession is engineering-based, these professionals need to have some idea and knowledge of other fields of study as well such as ar s c designing, creavity, and management. This is because the responsibili es of a naval architect include a lot of things that may at the first instance look to be not in the field of play. The Naval Architecture industry has had a long-las ng impact on the socio-economic status of the world and it would be safe to say that the developments that the marine world has

witnessed over the course of the last century would not have been possible without the blossoming of the field of naval architecture.

A marine engineer, however, is someone who specializes in opera ng and maintaining all the engineering systems used on a ship. When a ship is at sea, it is the team of marine engineers who keep the systems running and free from breakdown. A good marine engineer is also expected to know the design of most of the engineering systems used on ships. Every Chief Engineer on a ship is a graduate marine engineer.

Earlier bamboos are used by human beings they are at first a plant with a special kind of structure that makes bamboo different to any other plant in nature. Their special structure is the result of million years of natural evolu on and provide a very effec ve and efficient organism on the one hand; on the other hand, it also makes bamboo a very useful material for humans. Its natural structure explains why bamboo is used by so many people and has such a

long history in people’s life – not only as a material, but also as a cultural being in the human society.

Topic as a research and design to explore and experiment with bamboo as a viable (primary)building material for contemporary architecture.

This design complex hopes to act as not just a tourist recrea on and accommoda on centre but also a des na on in itself. It would help in genera ng newly developing tourism. A cultu-

ral center that is pride of locals and a des na on for tourists with revenue genera ng market of products made from bamboo. This project is to provide a pla orm for interested people who wants to pursue in bamboo construcon to share their work and to enable the experience this unique form of art, explore its diversified skill types. Bamboo construc on being a unique form and need to encourage and make aware interest for the same.

Charles Correa, a well-known architect once said, “Form follows climate”. This thought essen ally suggests that a built environment can respond to climate or use it as an advantage. Tradi onally, most buildings fundamentally responded to climate. Clima c informaon of the place is an important parameter to design a space applied in the design of buildings.

Within this context, Yashoda College of architecture held Workshop on 22th Sept 2016 with resource person Ar. Mukund Datye. This one day workshop focused on Sun Responsive Architecture combining insights on climate change processes with knowledge on environmentally responsive architecture and urban design, aiming to mi gate clima c exacerba on and adapt to changing climates.

For this One day workshop we received an overwhelming response from the students of Yashoda College of architecture. The workshop had two sessions, the morning session had presenta on of Ar. Mukund Datye and the a ernoon session was prac cal presenta on.

The workshop aimed to explore, learn and express the Sun responsive techniques and how they are integrated in the built form of residen al spaces in the city to human scale and ac vity.

The objec ve was to understand how spaces can be planned in terms of local climate condi ons, to bridge the gap between making plans, sec ons and eleva ons through observa on based sketching & to enhance graphical skills for documenta on.

I n December 2016, YCA was a part of Design Yatra, where our college organized for Satara chapter in collabora on with IIID. The aim of this Yatra was to take design to masses; that is to express importance of design to a large number people to a larger scale.

The Satara chapter tour was organized by Yashoda College of Architecture that included Temple measure drawing guided by Ar. Adwait Patankar, followed by Design Yatra Rally in Satara to explore the old city area, followed by workshops & concluded with Heritage walk headed by Ar. Ya n Pandya.

Architecture being the art & science of designing, the display of crea vity inspires the ar sts, which is required for our students. On that very account, Yashoda College of Architecture organizes exhibi on displaying students’ academic as well as extracurricular works.

The first exhibi on was held in October 2015-16.

The theme for the exhibi on was ‘Igni on’, indica ng the beginning of our new ventures. The func on was inaugurated by chief guest Ar. Shree Mahajani Sir. Student’s work and installa ons were appreciated by our honorable guest, faculty, parents and many visitors. The Assistant director of Town Planning, Satara- Mr. Shrikant Deshmukh was enthusias c enough to drop a visit and encourage our students.

Sexual harassment is a growing concern within today’s organiza ons. Like many professionals today, you probably have ques ons and concerns about what can be called as sexual harassment and sexual assault.

YSPM’s Yashoda College of Architecture, had organized a training program on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Preven on, Prohibi on and Redressal) Act, 2013 at Satara, Dist-Satara.

Adv. Manisha Barge madam guided all the par cipants that included students, staff (teaching and non-teaching). She explained about a law to provide a safe and secure working environment free from sexual harassment for all women (Preven on, Prohibi on and Redressal) Act, 2013. She addressed about what exactly sexual harassment and what workplace sexual harassment means. She also focused on the key individuals and ins tu ons involved in the prohibi on and preven on processes and their responsibili es.

Few examples through video presenta ons of unwelcome acts or behaviors were given along with informa on about how to complain and where to complain regarding harassment.

Games and sports are as essen al as studies. They provide the much desired change in the academic life of the students.

In fact, the college sports day is an eagerly awaited day.

Every year, Yashoda college of Architecture organizes Sports day for students, in order to develop sporty spirit in students & for students to give them opportunity to display their physical prowess and gain hands on experience of organizing sports.

The inaugura on commenced at 9:30 am, this was followed by welcome and inaugural speech by the President of Yashoda Tech.Campus Prof. Dashrath Sagare sir, his words of wisdom, especially drawn from his own personal life were inspiring and it set the tone for the day. Vice President Prof.

Ajinkya Sagare sir, declared the sports open.

The sports involved enthusias c par cipa on of all the students of Yashoda College of Architecture and Yashoda Tech.

Campus. The students ac vely par cipated in both track and field events. Field event like Basket Ball and Volley Ball were conducted both for boys and girls. Kabaddi was conducted for the boys, where ac ve par cipa on was seen. Indoor games like chess, Table-Tennis and Carrom Board were taken up by both boys and girls. The ground was filled with cheer and excitement as each event’s results were announced. The winners of the various events were awarded with trophies, medals and cer ficates in Annual social gathering, prize distribu on.

Workshop of Teraco a ar cles was conducted in Yashoda College of Architecture on 23/12/2016, Friday

by Gaurav Kaingade from Kolhapur. He is well known for his terraco a ar cles in the ar sts network and for conduc ng educa ve workshops for art enthusiasts.

Workshop was also par cipated by students of Bhavana Ins tute of Interior Design, Satara. Further after the demonstra ons of work by Mr. Gaurav Kaingade, workshop was turned as an hands on learning experience for students. Later on the process of baking and other trade secrets were shared with students in the form of an Audio Visual presenta on.

Brick workshop was conducted by Ar. Pravin Mali from Sangli. The workshop was conducted for 2 days in which students built different types of Arches, domes, vaults, etc. This learning exercise involved explaining about the arches right from the construc on technique, mixing of mortar ll finally building them.

Ar.Pravin Mali also addressed students at the end of workshop in which he stressed on saving ARCH in ARCH-itecture and this will save Energy, Environment and Economy.

Site visits arranged throughout the year for various subjects like architectural design, building construc on and management, surveying & leveling, building services, aesthe cs and visual arts, art apprecia on, etc. the inten on of the site visits, is to give students a hands on experience and knowledge about building industry.

Site visits provide valuable exposure that cannot be obtained from theore cal learning. It deepens the understanding of the subject and its need in the project.

It is very important for students to visualize and develop sense of imagina on in prac cal world to build a project.

In architecture tours to different places of architectural interest are necessary for comprehensive architectural educa on,With the same vision along with the regular academic program, the “Yashoda college of architecture encourages the students with ongoing site visits and study tour to various cultural and historical importance places every year.

The study tour of students was organized to world heritage site Hampi with a view to expose the students to India’s rich cultural heritage, besides giving them an opportunity to study examples of significant tradi onal architecture.

Hampi is today a rural se lement situated on the southern bank of the Tungabhadra River in Hospet Taluk of Bellary District in Karnataka. It is in a valley surrounded by hills that fade into a blue haze in the distance. Closer to the se lement and in concentric layer a er layer are outcrops of huge boulders, drama c in their forma on, shape and balance.

Through this brown and grey landscape the river flows in a wide crescent.The Matunga Hill, is the highest point in the area, sca ered across this land is seen the ruins of what has been called ‘the forgo en empire’.

Apart from on site documenta on, The students were able to understand the temple architecture of South India.

On site history sessions by faculty gave the students a be er percep ve of temple terminologies than classroom lectures.

On site sketches gave scale, propor on understanding to the students.

Hampi is one of those places where the elements of history, art, mythology and architecture can leave you contempla ng on the ever-inexplicable human condi on of crea ng and destroying. That’s how the stones in Hampi melt your heart.

ACTIVE PARTICIPATION- IIA’s MAHACON’17: Students are encouraged to get exposure to extend their horizons from various workshops, compe ons & par cipa on.

MAHACON being the annual event of IIA (Indian Ins tute of Architects) Maharashtra Chapter, was been organized at Satara center, on 3rd & 4th Feb. 2017. It was a Centenary year of MAHACON, thus a large number of delegates a ended the event.

IIA’s MAHACON’17 was volunteered by students of YCA; also MAHACON received an ac ve par cipa on from our students for various lectures conducted by renowned

Architects.our students in the year. The event was a ended by 1000+ professionals, including prac cing architects, students, interior designers, industry leaders, IIA Chapters, Centers & Sub-centers spread across the country. So the mega event proved to be a great exposure for our students in the year.

AR. Ya n Pandya being one of the ac vist, academician, researcher as well as the prac cing architect from India, paid a visit to Yashoda College of Architecture.

Where, he deliberately had one on one interac on with the students, addressing them on his works on- city planning, urban design, Mass housing, Architecture, interior design as well as conserva on projects.

Also, he shared his thoughts on the books authored by him on architecture, especially “Concepts of space in tradi onal Indian architecture”, and “Elements of space making”, which has been published interna onally.

Prof. Pandya emphasized on the need of students being more sensi ve towards the holis c approach for architecture which is experien ally engaging, environmentally sustaining and most importantly contextually appropriate.

The study tour of students was organized to Pondicherry, Auroville, Mahaballipuram, Thanjavur.

The study tour was planned to Pondicherry, Auroville, Mahaballipuram,Thanjavur so that the students should understand and explore urban design and modern structure . Even students should understand the Ancient history the monumental Scale, planning and symmetry of the structure.

The students have studied the historical structure and during the study tour they will observe the structure. It will be helpful to analyze the structure and help in planning

Universal design is the design of buildings, products or environments to make them accessible to all people, regardless of age, disability or other factors.

Universal design emerged from slightly earlier barrier-free concepts, the broader accessibility movement, an adap ve & assis ve technology that also seeks to blend aesthe cs into these core considera ons.

Yashoda Shikshan Prasarak Mandals, Yashoda College of Architecture held this workshop on 2nd march 2019 with resource person Ar. Kavita Murugkar. This one day workshop helped the students to widen their scope of the conceptual architectural thinking and strengthen their skills to achieve social sustainability through design by addressing needs and abilies of all sec ons of the society.

It is widely recognized that the built environment can drama cally impact on the par cipa on and engagement of people with disability and diverse needs. It has therefore become necessary for architects and designers to consider these needs when working within their profession. The implementa on of universal design teaching into architecture and design

curriculum has been recognized as an important step in facilita ng and enhancing the uptake of universal design during the design process.

The workshop was carried out in 3 phases: theore cal, prac cal and crea ve.

In theore cal phase, a very interesng lecture and audio visual presentaon by kavita murugkar.

In prac cal phase, the students played the role of a disability by using the assis ve aids, such as wheelchairs , crutches, and also being blindfolded.

They observed and documented obstacles and experienced it.

In the last crea ve phase of workshop , students teams were made to innova ve thinking for designing enabling environments. The workshop ended at 6.30pm with the reviews of the experiences of the students.

The objec ve was to understand universal design is to develop theory, principles and solu ons to enable everybody to use the same physical solu ons to the greatest extent possible, whether it be buildings, outdoor-areas, means of communica on or household goods.

Yashoutsav 2019 is a fes val of the college that includes various events where in students are given chance to think, step forward and show their talent. Annual social gathering Yashoutsav 2019 was celebrated on Sunday 20th January 2019. The program was inaugurated by chief guest hon. Mrs. Chetna Sinha and guest of honor Mr. Rajendra Ghadge sir, Founder President, Prof. Dashrath Sagare , Dr.N.G. Narve ( director), Ar.S.S.Talekar (Principal Yashoda College of Architecture), Dr.V.K.Redasani ( Principal, YTC faculty

of Pharmancy),Dr.M.D.Bhosale (MCA principal), Ms.D.S.Waghmare(Campus cultural in-charge) welcomed the guest.

The college is marked by its great events that include its annual social gathering celebra on. Every year, annual social gathering of YSPM has reached to its highest level of success.

World Architecture Day is celebrated on the first Monday of October every year. This year it occurred on the 1st of October to coincide with the United Na ons World Habitat Day, under the theme “Architecture... for a Be er World”... World Architecture Day 2018 marks the seven eth anniversary of the founding of the UIA, which was established in 1948 to unite architects everywhere. The Internaonal Union of Architects (UIA), the only global organiza on represen ng the world’s 3.2 million architects. By choosing a different theme for reflec on each year, World Architecture Day aims to draw the a en on of professionals and the public to issues concerning ci es and housing At Yashoda College of Architecture we celebrate World Architecture Day as a series of Architectural Presenta-

ons in which different leading professionals in the industry are called for. This year’s series included award winning designs presenta ons of Ar. Gaurav Bhangare on ISKILAR, Ar, Shree Mahajani on Ekbote Showroom, Ar. Ripple Patel on Digital Architecture.

Other than these various facul es from the Architecture department also presented their work Ar. Suhas Talekar on designing Govt. Buildings, Ar. Snehal Shedge on Naval Base, Ar. Mayur Gandhi on Observing Heydar Aliyev center & Ar.Swarali Sagare on Architecture responsibili es on the occurrence of Natural Disasters. 3D Prin ng technology was also explained by local vendore- Rio Printers as a technological advancement in the architectural field.

Yashoda College of Architecture parcipates in NASA so that students would explore the work of other college get the experience of workshop and seminar by exper se in the field of architecture.

The zonal NASA conven on zone 03 for year 2018-19 was held at Ambi, Pune on 6th to 9th september 2018.

The theme of the conven on was ‘Anomaly’ which means devia on from common rule.

The various seminars such as Decoding Concepts, Nature and Architecture, how to read a building, Architecture and Cinema were par cipated by students. The students a ended the workshops and seminars and got the experience and awareness about new developments in the field of architecture.

Zonal NASA conven on the students interact with other students, learn the team work, management even they learn recent trends in Architecture. At the conven on they also explore the work of the other colleges and learn different things. So students, faculty and college encourages the students to parcipant in such conven on.

Satara is a place with very rich culture and historical background, da ng back right from Shivaji Maharaja era to end of Peshwai. It has number of religious places around, some of the temples are 500 to 600 years old. One such old temple complexes is “Kshetra Mahuli”. There are three major temples of lord shiva namely, Vishweshwar, Rameshwar and Sangameshwar.

Students were encouraged to explore the art and architecture of this pilgrimage site through sketching. The program was held on 23rd June 2018 Advance Services workshop was held in college for students to learn about technical speciali es and the exper se were invited for the lecture from Yashada Engineering.

The exhibi on was held on 23rd and 24th February 2019 and was inaugurated by an eminent personality and president of the Ins tute Prof. Dashrath Sagare.

The YSPM educa onal organiza on provides various facili es, technical support, and human resources for the development of students. Each year has a different theme, for 2019 the theme was “TRANSITECTURE”.

THE TRANSITECTURE means changes in architecture in all aspects. How the change took place in all aspects in the architecture. The changes in material, planning and with different subjects.

The Annual Sports of YSPM’s Yashoda College of Architecture, Satara was scheduled from Friday 11th January 2019 to Saturday 12th January 2019.

The Chief Guest for the sports events was Prof. Ajinkya D. Sagare (Vice-president YSPM), and Ar. S. S. Talekar, Principal, Yashoda College of Architecture.

The event started with our glorious tradi on Ground Poojan and Flag hoisng.

The students showcased their unity and physical strength in running, shot put and javelin throw. The students of F.Y., S.Y. and T.Y. displayed their energy, enthusiasm and team work through a wonderful opening in the events. It was a great sight indeed to watch the ensurely increased the excitement of the audience.
