Rise and Shine A Typical Morning At Briarcliff Mornings at Briarcliff High School are hectic; they are composed of various routines, busy people, and different methods of transportation. The most typical aspect of a Briarcliff High School morning is the long line of cars that stretches a quarter of a mile down Pleasantville Road. Unfortunately, those who choose to drive to school—a good portion of the junior and senior classes—and those who carpool or find a ride to school, have to suffer through this traffic. Many kids also often stop at the Briarcliff Market and Deli, Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks to grab a bite to eat and a coffee before the long school day. After parking, many junior students face the dreaded walk from the church to the school. The kids who choose

to take the bus tend to get picked up much earlier than desired. On the bright side, buses usually avoid the majority of morning traffic, and bus-takers get to school with plenty of time to spare. Once at school, kids visit their lockers, catch up with friends in the lobby and locker rooms, or make a quick trip to the cafeteria to buy a muffin. Some kids meet with teachers before class, while late arrivals run to get to class on time. In the end, no matter how each student gets to school or what they do after they arrive, every Briarcliff student is in class by 7:48 when the first bell rings and school begins.

15 Minutes of Traffic. Every day, seniors and parents drive to school. While it often takes an average of five minutes to drive to the high school, the traffic and the school buses force traffic to accumulate, increasing wait time on the car line to over 15 minutes. Full Strides. Students and staff members pass through the arches of Briarcliff High School. Some walk down from the church, though most park in the side lot and lower lot while others exit their parent's cars on the car line.

Unloading Area. Grace Shaw, Noah Kamen, Ryan Klarnet and Marissa Gelfand step off the bus and prepare for the day they have ahead of them. Whether it's talking to friends, listening to music or studying for first period tests, students make use of their time on the bus in the mornings. Smiles and Coffee. With the high school's unnervingly early start to the day at 7:48, seniors Alexandra Chiodi, Caroline Davey and Carly Berkenblit leave their houses a little bit early to pick up a caffeine boost at Dunkin' Donuts.

Locker Buddy. Freshman Alena Galan prepares to put her books, class of 2016 t-shirt, pen and folder into her locker. Among other necessary tools, each student is given a map of BHS to navigate the high school. Day One. Freshmen Alex Jacobs, Ryan Celaj and Michael Greenberg explore their new lockers in the South Hallway.

Let's Get Started. Freshman Matthew Bramson waits patiently to begin the tour around BHS. While freshman Cameron Johnson takes his time to thoughtfully finish a letter to his senior self, freshman Nikki Harris stares at her new bright orange Class of 2016 shirt.

Eat Up. After a long day, freshman and their senior mentors come together in the cafeteria for pizza. As a surprise, the Historical Society rolls in carts filled with stacks of "The Briarcliff Family Album," which they hand to every student in attendance.

Entering high school for the first time can be an exciting yet nerve-wracking experience. To prevent such anxiety, a select group of Briarcliff High School seniors gave up their last day of summer vacation to help expose the freshfaced freshmen to the high school environment. By walking through their schedules without busy hallways, introducing them to teachers, and going to their lockers, freshmen became familiar with their new school. By helping these new kids on the block, seniors created lasting friendships, served as role models and appeared as friendly faces on the real first day of school.

"As we have progressed as a class, we have improved our communication skills in picking a theme that makes everyone happy. Freshmen year was a 'fiasco.' 'Super Smash Seniors' made our class happy and unified for our last spirit week."

Winner. The senior class' hard work pays off when Mr. Bordonaro announces them winner of Best Theme at Pep Rally with a little help from Nintendo characters.

I Choose You! Jon Weiner, also known as Ash Ketchum from Pokemon, is prepared to "catch 'em all!"

Smash Time. The senior class willingly hooks up a Nintendo in the cafeteria so students can make the "Super Smash Seniors" theme interactive. Students are able to play Super Smash Bros. during their free time throughout spirit week.

"Here We Go." Frankie Gentile, as Toad, and Russell Cocozza, as Princess Peach, show their love for the senior class by sporting full costumes from the Super Smash Bros. game.

Choose Your Character! Super Smash Seniors Catch Me for Bonus Points. Marissa Savage-Gibson shows her senior spirit, completely dressed as the Bonus Star from Mario. Catch her in the hallway for some extra points!

This year's senior class has fulfilled every senior class' idea of being Super Smash Seniors. The theme has been discussed for years, and this senior class finally followed through. Each student took their own liberties in choosing characters that may not have been in the original Super Smash Bros. video game but relate to other favorite games. Senior girls and boys were excited as theme day

approached, anticipating spirited outfits and a well decorated cafeteria. Theme voting occurred on Facebook and the class presidents executed their ideas. Seniors decorated the cafeteria, including pokes at the underclassmen on the windows and Smash Bros. backgrounds all around the room. While the juniors, sophomores and freshman came up with clever themes, the senior theme prevailed as the best.

One Mushroom at a Time. Decorating for the senior theme takes time and effort. Caroline Davey, Alexa Mitzner and Ally Epstein carefully design decorations to help to create the perfect scene.

Gorilla Gone Wild. Spencer Fried, in his best Donkey Kong attire, sits in the library ready to scare the student body. Despite his interesting interpretation, few people understood his Donkey Kong costume.

Study Sesh. David Ahern, dressed as Ness, tries to contain his theme day excitement while studying hard during AP Macroeconomics with Mr. Bordonaro, his favorite class of the day.

Prepare for Trouble! Haley-Ann Simpson and Alexa Mitzner skip their way down to the Powderpuff game with their buddy Pikachu in order to make him the seniors' mascot.

Launch Pad. Senior Frankie Gentile (20), who plays defensive and tight end, sends the ball up the field. Kickin' Up a Stir. The crowd roars while senior Matt Pasternak finishes his approach and kicks the football back to Irvington. Up, Up and Away. Taylor Talenti, Lauren Rubich, Jackie Heier and Denise Haxhia wait with their hands up for their teammate Danielle Glanville to fall into their arms.

Charge! The Briarcliff Bears run through the balloon arch and the homecoming sign held by the cheerleaders to introduce each player.

Flag on the Play. Briarcliff pushes back against the Bulldogs at the beginning of a play only to get called offsides. Flippin' Crazy. Sophomore Allie Meltser shows off her back tuck on the cheerleading team's mats while others wait their turn to impress the crowd. Down and Out. BHS trainer Jennifer Salvati, Dr. Sereny, and Coach Soup help injured senior Frankie Gentile off the field in order to check his status. His injury secured him a spot on the bench for the rest of the game.

Shout it Out Loud. Lauren Rubich and the rest of the varsity cheerleaders encourage the boys while they defend against the Bulldogs offense. Hand off. Kevin Wolff slyly hands off the ball to Gerardo Munoz as he heads into the play in hopes of gaining a first down for the Bears.

Incomplete Pass Homecoming: Briarcliff vs. Irvington The homecoming football game was an exciting day for the Briarcliff Bears. Not only was October 13th the day of homecoming, but it was also senior day. The senior cheerleaders and football players had so much to be proud of and were prepared, yet nostalgic and excited for their last homecoming football game. Although it was not a night game as most students hoped it would be, the fans came dressed in blue and orange and filled with tons of spirit. There were loads of energy radiating onto the field from the stands as the first quarter started.

Many alumni of Briarcliff High School returned to witness and relive the homecoming game. Notable alumni who attended the game were minor league baseball and 2002 football star Bobby Blevins and Scott Colton, captain of the 2002 regional champion varsity football team. To the Bears' disadvantage, star player Frankie Gentile got hurt in the first quarter and never re-entered the game. Even though the Bears fell to the Bulldogs, they were tough and strong throughout the entire game. Despite the loss, fans and players left with their heads held high at game's end.

Max Mason

Defensive Tackle

"We lost, but we still kept fighting until the end. The fans cheering keep us motivated. We put our all in and did our best. We have been doing great this season, and this loss shouldn't hold us back from excelling throughout the rest of our games. I am proud to be a Briarcliff Bear."

A Mile in Our Shoes School Days A typical BHS day starts off looking something like this: the students all shuffle into the school in a zombie-like manner, eyes half-closed as they share stories with friends of the homeworkpacked night that just ensued. Awakened by the first period bell, all the students hurry to start the day. Those lucky students with first period free are typically absent from this daily ritual. The day progresses as students walk from class to class, occasionally having a free period, where they can be found hanging out in the cafeteria or talking in the Quiet Study Area of the library. Many are familiar with a new tradition at BHS: pounding on the locked back doors of the library. As the bell rings and lunch begins, students spring out of their seats and

into the cafeteria. Many seniors drive off-campus for lunch at Rocky’s or coffee from Starbucks. The rest of the day progresses uneventfully (aside from all the spectacular learning), and finally the students leave their eighth period classes when the bell rings at 2:35. While most return home after the day ends, some stick around for clubs and sports, of which Briarcliff has plenty. After the extracurricular activities are over, students finally return home to start their homework and relax before they go to bed, dreading the sound of the alarm that is to wake them up so they can do it all over again.

Volley Pros. Sophomore Matt Heyda plays with a volleyball during his phys. ed. period. In the background, Mr. Meola and Mr. Coxen prepare a plan for what to teach the class.

Zoe Koff Sophomore

"Clubs are present in our day-to-day lives through their bake sales and creative fundraisers. The American Red Cross club's holiday card fund raiser for the soldiers was just one way clubs shape Briarcliff."

Shh! Junior Michael Feist is found in the Quiet Study Area, working on his 11th grade English homework during eighth period. Disruptive students are often asked to leave, so students like Feist can work in silence. Web Surfin'. Cole DiNome, Matt Dineen, and Jackson Sanders spend their 5b lunch period playing games, chatting and finishing last night's homework in the crowded library computer section.

Food, Glorious Food. Sharon Luan, Joel Tannenbaum, and Brandon Pray patiently wait on the crowded lunch line. The school cafeteria offers hot lunches and everyone's favorite: custom-made sandwiches.

"Taking notes in Mrs. Constantinou's biology class helps me prepare for tests and quizzes. We are currently learning about DNA, and I find it extremely interesting and challenging."

Eyes Up. Juniors Lexy Praeger and Abigail Kuhn give Mr. Muranelli, our beloved Spanish teacher, their complete attention during class while he explains new vocabulary to the class during 5th period.

Chemistry Builds Bonds. Chemistry teacher Mrs. Conti, helps sophomores Taylor Gutzmann and Jacob Herman examine their test tube in order to determine whether they have created the right mixture for their lab experiment.

Quick Rush. Freshmen Simone Konrad, Danielle Pugni and Lexi Grasso walk through the halls in order to get to their next class. There are only three minutes between the bells, so freshman quickly learn to move quickly!

Five, Six, Seven, Eight. Freshman Emma Burns, Mary Donoghue, Lizzy Boyle and Erynn Altabef dance in Mrs. Guida's 7th period dance class. These dancers are getting ready to perform at the High School Dance Show in May.

Crime Stoppers. Seniors Sam Friedberg and Emily Feher work together during Ms. Dyer's 8th period SUPA Forensics murder mystery party. The class party focused on the process of crime solving. Concentration 64. Senior Matt Ballini takes meticulous notes during his morning class in College Pre-Calculus with Mrs. Murphy in a windowless classroom on the upper floor of BHS.

League Winners! Boys Soccer While it is with an indescribable sadness that we end our varsity careers, we leave with confidence as we know that the future is bright. Looking back on our record-breaking accomplishments, it is clear that you have what it takes to succeed, not just in talent but more importantly in leadership and character. All jokes aside, work hard and make the most of the time you have, for the experience will end but glory will last forever. Best of luck in the next season. Arthur, Joe, Jon, & Juan Juan Sanchez Senior Juan Sanchez (11) is an all-around great player. He has played numerous positions and scored important goals in key situations. His use of stylish tricks, speed, and skill all contribute to his impressive game. Co-captain and senior teammate Arthur Kaufman commented on Sanchez's play stating, “Juan's love for the game is unquestionable as seen from his distinguished career and continued dedication. I wish my amigo all the best in the future.”

Goal Kick. Senior Arthur Kaufman prepares to kick the ball after it went out of bounds on the goal line. His kick led to a Bears' goal in a competitive game against Valhalla during the regular season.

Alive and Kicking. Sophomore Phillip Nasrallah (3) battles with a Vikings' forward (27) for possession of the ball. Nasrallah sprinted ahead and changed the direction of the play, successfully defending an attack on the Bears' goal.

Pre-game Anthem. The varsity boys stand together listening to the national anthem. As a newfound tradition, the teammates drape their arms over one another in a display of camaraderie and patriotism before the game begins. Heading to the Top. Junior Dan Ventura goes head to head with his Valhalla opponent while senior Dan Jablansky (23) waits for the two to return to the ground and fight for the ball.

Junior Sarah Goldstein (1), goalie for the league champion Briarcliff Bears, has dedicated her high school athletic career to soccer. She gained the status of goalie on the all-state first team in 2012 and was also named the league B player of the year. She valiantly played through a broken nose this season, wearing a facemask during practices and games in an effort to protect the injury.

Sarah Goldstein Look Ma, No Hands! Junior Sophie Feuer (14) and Freshman Lexi Grasso (7) fight Dobbs Ferry for possession, but make sure to keep their hands out of the play to avoid a handball. Just Kick It! Sam Kirsh (24) takes the ball down the field while shielding it from the Dobbs Ferry Eagle defense. Feuer runs parallel to the play to get open for a potential pass from Kirsh.

Eat.Sleep.Play Girls Soccer

Throw Down. Sophomore Grace Orr prepares to throw the ball back inbounds after her opponents' miscue. After she completes the throw, Orr runs onto the field in an attempt to get open for a pass from her teammates.

There is so much that can be said about our time together as VGS, but to sum it up, it is definitely fair to say that this season was a bittersweet one. It all started with an unforgettable and action-packed pre-season that could possibly go down in VGS history. Thankfully, we all survived together. We quickly learned that wins wouldn’t be handed over to us, and we fought our way through many tough games. As a team, we ended up in a good place as league champions. Although it didn’t go the way that we wanted, it is important that we take what we’ve learned from this past season and grow from it! We love every one of you girls, and we count down the days until we come back together, better and stronger than ever! Love, VGS Captains Laura, Sarah & Sophie

Cure Bound Breast Cancer Awareness The month of October was colored pink at Briarcliff High School. In 2010, when the disease hit close to home and we lost our beloved Mrs. Racioppo, athletic teams came together and began to raise awareness and money for research on breast cancer. This year, the Bears football team wore pink socks, sweatbands, and laces and the cheerleaders showed their support with pink bows and socks. The girls’ volleyball teams chipped in by selling pink baked goods, offering breast cancer lanyards, and playing a “pink game” in specially-made uniforms versus Rye. The cheerleading, field hockey and the volleyball teams even took over the Manhattanville campus on October 16th for the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. All of these efforts resulted in the participating athletic teams raising over $3000 this year to aid the cause.

Cheer Up! Emily Altabef sports a pink bow in support of breast cancer research at a Briarcliff Bears away football game against Putnam Valley.

Setting Up the Attack. Senior libero Chelsea Rosenburg receives an attack from Rye and passes it to her teammate. Freshman opposite Simone Konrad keeps her eye on the ball in case something happens. Walking for a Cure. Varsity and junior varsity volleyball, varsity field hockey and the fall cheerleading squads, along with their coaches, attended the breast cancer walk at Manhattanville College in October. Teachers such as Ms. Dilworth and Ms. Fernandez also made time to attend the worthy cause. Some even wore customized breast cancer t-shirts while others tried to stay warm during one of the fall's colder Sunday mornings.

SlamBoys Dunk Basketball As we look back on this past basketball season, we can honestly say we had the time of our lives. We couldn’t have asked to spend the winter of our senior year with a better group of guys. We will never forget the bonds we formed with each and every one of you, and we’ll remember this season for as long as we live. You guys are our family forever, and we love all you boys. Briarcliff Bears Basketball 2012-2013 forever in our hearts. WIT. Ryan and Jared Jackson Wexler “Jack has done nothing but impress his fellow teammates, coaches, and me every day at practice. His will to win and determination to get better every day earned him a key role in our team’s success. Jack is a great kid that has a bright future ahead of him. It was a pleasure playing with him this past season. I know he will continue to work hard and become a bigger part of Briarcliff Basketball in the upcoming years," said senior captain and teammate Ryan Huegel.

Swish! With two seconds left in a one point game against rival Pleasantville, senior Spencer Seabrook (3) steps to the line to extend the lead. The exciting game was broadcast by MSG Varsity, and the largest crowd of the season got to witness a key Bears' victory.

Calling the Shots. Senior Ryan Huegel calls out the play as he advances the ball down the court. Huegel, the team's starting point guard, crosses half court and prepares his offense to attack.

Coast to Coast. Senior Jared Jones (23) steals the ball from a Clark Academy opponent and heads up court. Freshman guard Jeffrey Blair (12) trails the play in case Jones needs to slow it up. Game Face. Senior Brian Daniels (11) drives to the basket despite the large defensive presence that Clark Academy presents. After being hit in the face, Daniels made the shot and set up at the foul line to complete the three-point play.

Give Peace a Chance Move DC for KONY 2012 After watching a moving presentation, the Student Coalition for Human Dignity, led by Mrs. Cotnoir, approached Mr. Kaishian in regards to attending the anti-Kony rally in Washington, DC. The protest supported the capturing of Joseph Kony and the end to his child army, named the "Invisible Children" by his detractors. About 30 students, members of the club and others who wanted to "Move DC" left Briarcliff High School at 5:30 AM to participate in the rally. Upon the group's arrival, students listened to inspiring testimonies and speeches. After the speeches were completed, they marched to the White House to show support for the issue. The Move DC event gathered over 10,000 people concerned with restoring peace and ending violence. Junior Zach Ross remarked, "Being part of this massive, red wave of people gave off such a positive energy." Like Ross, those who attended the protest reported feeling empowered and that they were part of something bigger than themselves. The club plans to continue to keep students aware of pressing world-wide issues.

Walk For Peace. The Briarcliff chapter of the Student Coalition for Human Dignity band together with other students from across the nation for the Move DC rally walk to the White House in Washington, DC. Various speakers rallied the crowd, advocating for the capture of the notorious Joseph Kony. Quick Question. Senior Tamar Honig talks with a KONY DC advocate who informed the students about the actions of Joseph Kony.

Rap Pre-Show. Senior Asa Barkan sings his original song "Sheep" while a KONY representative dances along. The seniors were able to get pumped up for the assembly and the pep rally that followed when Barkan took the microphone and sang before the assembly began. Visible Children. Members of the Student Coalition for Human Dignity and others sit and pose for a photo. They are standing up for the children who have been kidnapped and forced to commit atrocities within Joseph Kony's army.

Giving Back Is Sweet. The American Red Cross Club set up a table outside the Maresca in which they asked students and faculty to write cards to soldiers overseas, receiving candy in return. At Your Service... BHS Honors Our Heroic Soldiers

About Face. After returning from Iraq, Second Lieutenant Leonard Sykes tells Briarcliff High School students about his experiences in the war and his path to the army.

Cards for the Command. Seniors Brianna Celaj and Summer Horowitz sit at the Maresca table and hand out supplies for students to make cards for our soldiers.

The clubs American Red Cross and Save Our Soldiers have both sought to bring attention to soliders at BHS. Around holiday time, the American Red Cross Club set out to make soldiers feel special while they were away from their families. The club set up a card-writing station outside the Maresca with which they offered stickers, paper and markers in order to make heart-warming cards for soldiers overseas. The Save Our Soldiers club brought attention to the ROTC program by inviting active Second Lieutenant Leonard Sykes speak to students. He explained how he entered the program and how those surrounding him helped to motivate him. BHS is clearly dedicated to highlighting the excellence of soldiers.

Literate-ly Awesome Briars & Ivy When the last bell rings on a Monday afternoon, the great exodus of students begins. Some, instead of rushing for the golden double doors, head for the back of the library to the Writing Lab. Once the lights are turned off to reveal an illuminated Smart Board, the club gets started. Stories, poems, photos and paintings are pulled up to spark lively discussion and debate. The student-run (with the vital help of Mrs. McCarthy) literary magazine Briars and Ivy, anchored by the submissions of other students, meets each week to decide whether a piece is right for the magazine. This year the annual Briars and Ivy writing contest enticed students to submit a story for a cash prize and a chance to be published. Everyone from closet writers to veterans submit their pieces, which are carefully considered until three are picked to win first, second and third place. This magazine has a stellar record of winning prestigious awards, and for good reason, too: the members are dedicated to making this magazine the best it can be.

Fillin' In. With Mrs. McCarthy on maternity leave, English teacher Dr. Kenney offered to help run B&I. Here, Dr. Kenney is seen reading a student's sonnet out loud while the rest of the group prepares to critique it.. Decisions, Decisions. The Briars & Ivy staff makes decisions on what work should be put into its literary magazine. Juniors Rebecca DeLorenzo, Laura Birnbaum and Alexandra Arminio scrutinize the artwork on the board.

Runnin' the Show. As co-editors of the literary magazine, Jessica Daneshvar and Tamar Honig work together to show the club different student works. These two are dedicated to winning awards for this year's magazine. Usin' the SmartBoard. Daneshvar and Honig work the computer to project a potential piece for the magazine.

During periods two through five on March 22nd, the auditorium lobby swelled with eager participants and visitors, keen to attend to every booth set up for the school's International Festival. Booths were run by ethnic clubs, student organizations willing to lend a hand, and students proud to share their heritage with the school. Each stand featured fun facts about the country, some simple words, traditional dress, music, art forms, and food. The complete immersion in a cultural conglomeration surely lingered in students’ minds as they headed home that day, once more asserting Briarcliff’s dedication to improve student awareness of the world around us.

Shh! Senior Rebecca SimpsonWallack taps her way through “Marian the Librarian,” as the female lead, Marian Paroo. Simpson-Wallack's character falls for con man Harold Hill. Sing It Out! Freshman Mary Donoghue, as Winthrop Paroo, the younger brother of Marian, sings for the first time after avoiding speech for years due to an embarrassing lisp.

Actor

Diana Wexler Diana Wexler was cast as Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn, the eccentric wife of the Mayor of the fictional River City, where The Music Man is set. When asked about the ten weeks the cast spent rehearsing, Wexler replied, "I've done the musical most years and The Music Man was no different in terms of quality and fun. I had a blast! I wish I could do it again."

Instrumentalist

Kristen Ma The unsung heroes of the Spring musical are the student musicians who perform the score under the direction of musical director Carol Arrucci. As one of two cellists, Ma noted that the most frustrating part about playing in the pit was being unable to see the actors dance, as she had to pay attention to the conductor and the score.

Students at BHS stepped 101 years into the past with The Music Man, the high school's Spring musical. Set in 1912, the musical told the story of salesman Harold Hill, played by Dan Levine, who convinces people that the only way to solve the corruption in their town is to create a band. After collecting his money, he leaves each town without teaching the kids how to play. However, Hill runs into trouble when he reaches River City, Iowa and meets the stubborn piano teacher/librarian, Marian Paroo, played by Rebecca Simpson-Wallack. After spending about a month in a town complete with a barbershop quartet, an Irish mother, an anvil salesman, and an amateur marching band, Hill learns that he had more to offer the town than he realizes. With 12 seniors performing in their last show, the cast described their final performance as "bittersweet." Even so, they were able to put on a memorable and heartfelt performance that the Briarcliff community will remember for years to come.

Our Ordinary Life Around the Town of Briarcliff Senior

Sydney Hoff "Growing up in Briarcliff has been a great experience. As much as I look forward to having independence and experiencing the city-life next year in Atlanta, I know I will greatly miss the small town I have come to love so much."

Freshman

Emma Borho "I have lived here in Briarcliff since I was born. My family has lived in this town for decades, and with that came so many memories! I will never forget the town I grew up in and all the times I've hung out at The Patio. My older sisters have gone to Briarcliff High School and, just like they did, we all enjoy it very much. We feel that Briarcliff provides students with many opportunities for life."

One of the things that makes Briarcliff High School so great is its uncanny reflection of the town itself. The community defies cliché, with its quaint, small town vibe. Our little town is the center of life for its residents, as teenagers and adults alike mob Pleasantville Road to run everyday errands, eat a delicious meal, or simply just hang out. As the seasons change, so does the atmosphere of the town, but the people of Briarcliff continue to rely on the local businesses just as much as the businesses rely on them. But Briarcliff is more than just where we go - it's also who we are. Most high school students have attended Briarcliff schools from kindergarten all the way up through their senior year. Thus, we are built from the same memories: AYSO soccer, Halloween parades, Community Day, Todd School's family activities, and the other events that make Briarcliff unique. As we grow older, we grow apart, but our common roots keep our shared spirit strong. We are proud to call Briarcliff our home.

Pocket Park. Briarcliff decided to add Pocket Park the aesthetic of the village in 2009. The park serves as a nice place to eat lunch outside or a serene place to chat with friends.

50 Years of Sandwiches. Located in Millwood, Rocky's Deli is open 24/7. Rocky's is a favorite for a late night snack or a quick stop during a senior's free.

Gone. Amalfi, one of Briarcliff's Italian restaurants, went out of business this year. Luckily for residents, it was replaced by another Italian eatery, Orfino's. Hit the Books. The Briarcliff Manor Public Library is a great place to study or a great resource when you just want to find a good book to read.

Family Affair. Senior Chloe Jacobs and her family opened up Good Food in July 2011. This delicious restaurant is the perfect place to go to grab a quick crepe or a smoothie with fresh fruit. Good Food not only uses natural ingredients but also makes sure to use “green" utensils. The Jacobs' restaurant isn't only good for you, but it's also really good!

Hit the Gym. Club Fit is the preferred gym of BHS students. Not only is this favorite close by, but it also features a friendly staff. Many seniors can be spotted at the gym, fulfilling their “senior alternative” physical education requirement.

Ice Cream and Breakfast. The Patio, which is located in the original Briarcliff Fire House, includes the town's favorite Hershey's Ice Cream and delicious breakfast foods.

Nikki, We can't believe how quickly these 17 years have passed. While the time seems so short, the scope and depth of your accomplishments would take many a lifetime to achieve. More impressively, you've earned these successes while facing numerous challenges that would have stopped most in their tracks. You're an amazing young woman with the brightest of futures. We couldn't be more proud of you. With much love and admiration, Mom, Dad & Brandon
