FEATURE I: Close-Friend Management

Fall 2021 (Third year) Intro to Digital Product Design Fangfang Zhang

People Problem: When checking posts in Moments, I care about the posts from my close friends the most. However, there are a lot of posts from people I’m not close to. The posts sometimes fill up the page and make it hard to see the posts from my close friends.

Chosen Feature: The “Close friends moments” is a parallel feature with “Moments”. It allows you to only check posts from your close friends if you don’t want to waste time seeing other “unimportant” posts. However, if you want to check more posts, you can go to “Moments” where the posts you already see from “Close friends moments” will be removed, so there is no concern of time-wasting double checking.

The feature of adding a friend to the close-friend list appears in the “edit contact” of friend’s profile. You can also long press friends’ headshot to add him or her to the list when browsing posts in “Moments”. It’s a process of building up the closefriends list, and there is no anxiety of choosing all close friends at once.
