The 2nd project is also a competition. The aim was to design the main office of “Hello World Kids”. It is a programming school for children in Amman, Jordan. It was part of a competition and it got the 1st place. The main challenge of this project was to fit multiple functions within a limited space without sacrificing the quality and the functionality of the

space. That’s why circular rooms were used. The circular rooms have glass walls to maintain visual continuity within the space. It can also be covered for meetings. The space also features a continues table in which programmers can use

The main concept was to utilize the already existing grids and structures. Four new buildings were added. The buildings were built using local techniques and a perforated faced were added to block sun because it is located in a very hot aired area. The project was based on participatory meetings with the locals in which we learned their specific needs and requirements.

The design tried to create intimate spaces in between the buildings and shading was provided for these spaces. The built enviornment done here was fully accesable with special handels for door that serve all heights and barrier free walking space serving all structures.

Adaptive reuse for an existing structure.

UNOPS wanted to create a school that teach artifact restoration in the city of Jerash in Jordan. The city has an old roman ruins and it is a hub for tourism in Jordan.

The building is an existing building from the early 40s.

After doing an analysis for the history of the building and documentation for the structure and the architecture of the building.

We came up with a design that use the existing spaces in a new way. We also added a structure to expand the building’s capacity. The structure has a distinctive features (steel and orange interior) to differentiate between the old and the new. The structure can also be removed in the future.

The plastic classroom was designed as my proposal for a competition done by arch storming. The aim of this project was to design an outdoor classroom to teach environmentalism for children in Mexico. The main concept was to define a space with grid-like structure that contains indoor and outdoor spaces. Plastic bottles collected from nearby areas could be used to provide

shading for the space and also give lesson for children on how to utilize such materials. The space is defined yet still open to greenery and nature. It aims to achieve harmony between the indoor and nature. The structure of the class room is versitile that can be arranged in various ways. It also can act as an educational writing board.

PROJECT 07-B

Design Studio Unversity work / Stuttgart , Germany / Built. / 2016 / Individual work

The project was designed during my design studio work at HFT Stuttgart. The project features an outer shell that span around the inner structure. The outer shell is detached structurally from the inner spaces. This gives the design the freedom to create a column free upper floor and the ability to create open double volumes on the sides.

The façade is a separated exterior free from the structure. It is a movable living system that open and close in accordance with occupants needs. It also features an open public staircase which takes the people to the rooftop to view the city. The rooftop acts as an extension to the public space around the building.

PROJECT 08-C

architecture school project / A house for imaginary client. / 2014 / Individual work

House design enhance connectivity between occupants and nature

The project was meant to imagine a house for a painter. The main concept was to maximize the connectivity of the artist with the surrounding landscape using multiple windows. Each window frames the landscape in a certain manner. The main openings were placed to the north to avoid direct sunlight. The interior with the lights coming in from those windows provides and ever-changing play

of natural light and shadows. In order to avoid excessive light , the roof extends to the sun bearing sides providing natural shade. The space contains an atrium in the middle which acts as a communal area for the house. Hierarchy of spaces from open to private is maintained. Private rooms and service rooms are reserved to the 3rd floor and the periphery of the house.

PROJECT 09-C

Housing Project / Amman/ 2015 individual work

This Housing Project was imagined to provide units for low-income families in Jordan. The site was chosen to be close to a public space and a bus station. The orientation of the houses was designed in a way that is responsive to the surroundings and the forces that exist in the site. This includes the sun orientation and topography of the site. The ground floor is floating to let

movement and vehicles. In the middle there is an open public space for the residents that has playgrounds , greenery and seating areas. The complex has kindergarten , parking , library and shops. The open V shape maximises sun accessibility to units and provides a is open in a way that gives every unit a vista to the city.

PROJECT 09-C

Housing Project / Amman

2015 / Individual work

Is it posible to have a versitile interior design for housing units?

There are three types of units in accordance with the needs of the families. small, medium and large units. small unit. Each unit has a movable wooden walls that can adapt to the specific needs of each family. Each unit has a pre-installed modular kitchen and bathroom. This serves as the “core” for each unit and is not movable. The family gets to arrange everything else with the

existing Movable walls. There is also an existing light pipe that is also attached to the side of every core. This gives more lights specially to the lower units. it also lowers electricity consumption for each family.

M.USE TOWER

PROJECT 10-C

Project done for design

school / Mixed use tower / Amman / 2016 / Individual work

This project was meant to design a shopping centre and a residential tower. The design created a space in the middle that provides a public space. The space is defined with the tower and a floating structure that turns around it.The space in the middle was defined in a playful matter. It features street furniture and a defining feature that gives identity to the area.

From a phenomenological point of view. The mass of the tower acts as an anchor point. When the user enterer the space that was defined by the floating structure. The user should feel a sense of a grand machine of living & commerce. The space also is well connected with the surrounding nature& the sky and is planted with multiple types of trees.

The tower was built using exoskeleton combined with suspended floors. Every cluster of floors is attached to a suspended structure connected with exoskeleton. This creates column free spaces. It also gives the chance to create gardens in between each cluster of floors. An Atrium exists in the middle of each cluster with a definitive characteristics.

The diagram to the left showcase the structure logic of the building in more detail. It showcase the four main cores in which the main plumbing systems and vertical lift system are attached to. The system functions with outer exoskeleton and suspension systems that creates an open plan.

Functional Modular House that responds to the local building technuiqe and can expand.

This is my proposal to Arch storming competition. The purpose was to design a house for a family living in Tanzania. The main concept I proposed for this house is that it can grow and extend in accordance with the family growth. The building technique is inspired from Nader Khalili superadobe buildings. They are low cost and easy to build. It uses plastic bags from local soil. The house

also utilize scaffolding to provide shading and define the house’s territory. The modern look of the scaffolding painted in green juxtapose with the earthy superadobe structure. The house is meant to be detached and it features its own PVC cells and its own natural oven. It also has a well to collect water from rain or from close resources.

Stuttgart, Germany / 2023

Group Work

An expandable unit that adapts to the specefic requirments of the city and people.

The unit design was developed after participatory meetings with the locals. A building in the area will be emptied in the near future. The city wanted a vision for the building and the surrounding side walks, streets and urban spaces. Based on our findings we came up with a plan that is not just a physical design but also has ecomonimcal and social activities. The idea was to

a Flea market that pops in every Sunday. The spaces would support local enterprises and local artisans and sellers. The plan didn’t include only a market but also it can function as pop-up spaces for other activities such as play , music festivals , street art and so on.

A modular expandable unit that works as an economical solution.

The main goals of the proposed design are to provide urban refugees with spaces where they can learn applied technical skills through educational platforms, implement the acquired skills through workshops and necessary workspaces, sell products and services developed in the workshops, foster and grow their own businesses using the gained knowledge and provided facilities, and

transfer the knowledge to other urban refugees/locals. The design incorporates the use of units, these units were designed to be adaptable to the steepness of staircases and to the needs of each community. An NGO is responsible for producing and storing the units in collaboration with Municipality of Amman.

AL-MUHAJIREEN STAIRS

A modular expandable unit that works as an economical solution.

The stairway chosen is considered wide compared to other staircases and has a good pedestrian traffic. The idea of using the stairways as a public space isn’t present in the local community, stairways are often looked at as a connecting element only, the plan was to transform the stairway into a functioning open space which could be utilized as

a Crafts School that would enable locals and refugees of learning a craft, producing it and selling it, thus creating a self-sufficient economic system.

The unit design allows multiple scenarios to be achieved. The system is versatile and can serve multiple functions.
