MFAINTERIORDESIGN

Yashica Devendra Popat, President of Indian Bee Collective at SCAD, Marketing head of Interior design board at SCAD.
Born and raised in Mumbai, India. My intrigue in architecture, interior and planning drives back to times my cherished recollections when I assembled my dollhouse with Lego. I have always been amazed by my city, Mumbai, which is celebrated for its dynamic culture, buildings, and architecture. A country with a rich culture but faces many challenges and makes enormous efforts to advance daily.
I grew up hearing colourful stories about courageous people and a culture that will never be forgotten. These stories are sometimes full of hope and other times full of deep sorrow.
I want to forge a strong connection with and between people by using her creative thinking, artistic abilities, and problem-solving attributes.
. FUN FACT......
I, TOO, GO BEYOND MY RESUME AND PORTFOLIO; WE HAVE THAT IN COMMON. LET'S GET TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER...

Merengue is the bright traditional dance of the island that has joined the community together for generations.
Much like this dance, the family resort will create an upbeat, exciting tempo through vibrant colored textiles and whimsical lighting.
Dark wood tones and historic stone will set the stage for modern design to be showcased in light fixtures and architecture.

TEAM WORK
Drawing Inspiration from the majestic mountains. Combines Sophisticated modern design with elements that echos the natural environment.
Due to the Pandemic, my office was shifted from In-person to remote; working at home was disturbing, thus killing my productivity level
I was on a hunt to find a proper work setting, and the place that finally connected was near the balcony, which had a nature view. But Why did I mention this? Guesses?

Berber society has produced a logic which defines the man as the source of income while simultaneously limiting women's roles inside the home.
Women are the main actors in preserving Berber identity. They are the guardians of Berber culture, such as crafts, clothing, and culinary arts.
But the talent is hidden and not valued, so providing a stage or platform for them is important.
