Anatomy of an Agricultural Paradigm is a project which’s scale goes beyond that of a building, or even of a single village. This project, designed as part of a larger internvention along the Upper Litani River, seeks to identify primary issues and potential opportunitues within a cluster of villages, then address them by proposing and designing some form of infrustructural intervention. Our solution, in the case of Qaraoun Lake’s Eastern bank, manifested in the form of an agricultural research, training, and experimentation hub centered around an existing but defunct irrigation canal.

Fold Fillet
Inhabit is a housing cluster for local subcontractors and craftsmen of Fanar’s industrial sector. It joins two facets of a divided valley --the industry and the residents-- and gives them space to interact and thrive. It is a project created through the aggregation of modules designed to respond to climatic and topographical factors, which relies on local industrial waste to reduce its carbon footpring while also cutting costs

Everywhere Nowhere is a project that questions what a bus stop is and can be. Designed adjacent to the existing yet defunct Charles Helou Bus Station, the project houses multiple programs designed according to Marc Auge’s definitions of transience and travel: a bus station, a mall, and a hotel at its core. Subsequently, ilusions of timelessness and timeliness, neverending circulation and transparency, arise as questions and guidelines for the project’s manifestation.

Axel is an Ice Skating centered sports facility designed to cater to both skating atheletes and casual skaters alike. Much like the elegant art of figure skating, this project follows the same styles of flow, whereas the massing follows the inherent paths of the site, and the expression of the structure follows those same rules of rectilinearity and curvature. It is a center for ice skating, and in and as of itself, conveys the grace it hopes its users will perform.

The Little Things

The Little Things is an exploration of the potential of Beirut’s many unused interstitial spaces. Designed atop a disused and crumbling staircase between two residential streets, this project aims to house a user in a micro-living setting while catring to the needs of it’s context. Thus, this project manifested as a renovation and expansion of the already existing staircase into a child’s haven to play, maintained and guarded by the micro-house’s user: a friendly shopkeeper.

Conducted on an already existing building, this analysis resulted in a set of highly detailed and comprehensive construction drawings.

Sharing Daylight is an exploration of the practical applications of architecture onto the macro scale issues of densely populated Beirut using micro-scale solutions. The issue addressed here is that of the absence of proper daylighting between buildings due to their nearly seamless juxtaposition. The proposed solution entails the fabrication and installation of porous multifunctional devices that would reflect daylight between buildings using mirrors, while also acting as a daily-use device for laundry, gardening, or otherwise.
