Non-standard colored Boston Terriers are also known as the American Gentleman, and the breed was first recognised by the AKC in the year 1893. Originally bred to chase rats out of garment factories, this breed is the first non-sporting dog ever bred in the United States.

The Non-standard Colored Boson Breed’s Origin The original Non-standard Boston terrier can be traced back to a dog in the 1870s named judgea brindle-coated dog with a white face who has a cross between an English Bull dog and an English terrier.
