Concept Statement
Island Revitalization What I would like to design a contemporary market where people can feel that mission bay has transformed from the traditional industrial area to a new emerging hi-tech area. By illustrating the revitalization, an energetic and refreshed feeling can be delivered to customers. Who People who are going to use the space will be the residence nearby, workers, tourists, students. People here are mostly either from a high level educational institution or from high education required industry such as big companies, financial industry, etc. Why The reasons I would like to choose this concept are: 1. The client provides great food and high-quality products, so the Market Hall will be a great food charging station to regenerate people’s energy.

2. Space is near the Mission Creek Park, so when design with “revitalization�, the elements applied interior will be a great connection to the exterior. 3. Since the area is very new, the market will be a newborn gathering space for the neighborhood. It can provide new opportunities for the communities to get familiar with the area.
