The journey from Mumbai to Nagpur, which is about 830 miles, typically takes more than 16 hours. The Mumbai Nagpur Expressway or the Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg, however, will reduce the distance travelled to about eight hours. By the end of 2022, a super communication expressway that will reduce the distance to roughly 700 km and the travel time to almost 50% should be completed. Furthermore, the highway will link ten districts in Maharashtra, including Thane, Nasik, Ahmednagar, Buldana, Aurangabad, Jalna, Washim, Amravati, Wardha, and Nagpur.
