AcomplaintmustfirstbemadetotheRentAuthoritybytheoffendedtenant. 

Within30daysoftheorder'sissuance,thecomplainthastheoptionofappealingthe Authority'sdecisionifitdoesnotsatisfythem.TheycandothisineithertheRent CourtortheRentTribunal. 

Within60daysafterthedaytheorderwasissued,theRentCourt&RentTribunal mustbeabletoconcludethecase. 

TenantsshouldapproachtheConsumerorCivilCourtwiththeowneriftheyarenot satisfiedwiththeRentCourtorTribunal'sdecision,astheyareunabletodosoon theirownbecausetheyarenotmembersofthehousingsociety.Astheconsumer andthecourtshandlecasesfromavarietyofothersectorsoutsideofrealestate issues,thisprocedurecouldtakesometime.

ThedraughtModelTenancyActbytheCentralGovernmentrecognizesthemanyissues thattenantsencounterandgrantsthemsufficientrights.
