V8 XTO OFFSHORE

Extreme performance just hit a whole new level. This is a game-changer unlike anything witnessed before. An outboard that effortlessly combines unrivalled power, torque, and speed with cuttingedge technology and ultimate performance. Extreme, in fact.

The muscular new shape and dynamic looks clearly communicate the next-generation nature of the XTO Offshore – and hint at the incredible industry-first concepts and technologies waiting to be unleashed. Make no mistake: the XTO heralds a genuine revolution for owners of larger boats and RIBs.

It’s an exciting and incredible story – too lengthy to fully tell in these few pages – so discover the real Extreme now, in detail, by visiting www.yamaha-marine.eu and then by talking right away to your Authorised Yamaha Dealer.

POWER The revolutionary Yamaha XTO engines are not just outboards as we know them. They offer, for the first time, a seamlessly integrated total power and control solution that’s ideal for larger, heavier offshore boats and RIBs. The letters XTO stand for Xtreme Thrust Output, and the awesome 5.6 litre naturally aspirated units, with their purpose-built, next-generation

V8 blocks, live up to the name by delivering a totally new and unique level of power, torque, and all-around performance. Together, they create an Extreme level of performance that has never before been available from any outboard configuration. Ever. The special XTOS propellers are also designed to cope with these extreme power demands and to

give maximum thrust, so their hubs and blades are larger, tougher, and stronger - and crafted from duplex stainless steel for greater corrosion resistance. Last but not least, they feature our unique Shift Dampener System (SDS™) for ultrasmooth shifting.

THRUST At the heart of our new flagship powerhouse is Yamaha’s very latest technology, taken to new and extreme levels. Once a potential owner has experienced its hugely impressive torque and power, the next revelation will be the exhilarating speeds obtainable from these smooth, quiet, super-efficient engines – even on larger and heavier boats.

Of course, to deliver this incredible performance consistently requires supreme combustion efficiency in all conditions. The XTO incorporates industry-first features, such as 5-pump Direct Fuel Injection and our unique in-bank exhaust system – all working in full harmony with sophisticated technologies like VCT (Variable Camshaft Timing) and DOHC (Double Overhead Camshafts).

Want more? Then we should also mention the dual chamber oil pump, 2-stage water pump, quadruple thermostats and cooling outlets, extremely high output alternator… As you can probably tell, the stage is set for an extreme increase in your enjoyment of boating.

CONTROL As well as moving benchmarks forward in terms of performance, the all-electronic XTO engines work in partnership with our unique Helm Master® boat control system – with its new Set Point™ feature and CL7 touchscreen display – to deliver a seamlessly integrated power and control solution. In fact, a big boat or a large RIB is now easier to handle than ever before, because the XTO

features a host of technological advances that make helming a joy, not a struggle: A fully integral electronic steer-by-wire system (another industry first) and an extra wide steering angle, as well as a new hydrodynamic lower unit shape – all combine to give you finger-tip precision and control, whether docking or at full speed.

And there’s more! Our revolutionary thrustenhancing exhaust system gives massively powerful thrust in reverse (around 300% more than the F350 for example), bringing confidence and precision to every reversing manoeuvre.

RELIABILITY There can be no compromise on quality and dependability when consistent power delivery is demanded at such an extreme level, so every component is over-engineered and built supertough. In fact, for the XTO, we specify that all parts must not only pass Yamaha’s strict endurance standards, but also exceed them by a factor of two!

From the massive crankshaft to the torqueabsorbing heavy-duty gears – and from the extra-large diameter prop shaft to the low-friction gear case design – the emphasis is on endurance and long life. Next generation, quadruple water-cooling intakes and 2-stage water and oil pumps keep things cool, while maintenance is made convenient too, with easy-access cowlings and even the facility for an in-water oil change at the dock.

Standing behind all this is Yamaha’s well-proven 5-part anti-corrosion paint system – and hard-won global reputation. This is true reliability – in the extreme.
