Interior Design and Aesthetic is the first studio course with 5 credits in Institute, for 2nd year student. This course aims student to carry out aesthetic analysis in the object of study in studio apartments through considerations of function, ergonomics, materials, construction, utility, and semiotics so that student can formulate design problems. Students are able to compile design concepts that explore the aesthetic, either shapes, patterns, or colors.

Nowadays, many people attract to living a simple life in a small space. Apartment is one of the option for them who like to living in a practice ways, because apartments work on the principle of effective space utilization. Moreover, most apartment provide many facilities such as swimming pool, movie room, fitness center, etc.

In this project, client is an architecture student who interest at art and like to gather with his friends, so he need an efficiency space and lay out plan that support his activities. The partition divide the public space covers the pantry and the living area, and the private space covers the bed area, wardrobe, and working area.

Due to limited space, his apartment expected to accomodate his daily activities and hobbies, such as work out area, gather with his friends, and enough space to collecting fashion stuff. He require his apartment has a luxurious looks with ambience that support creativity and dominated by navy and turquoise colors.

CONCEPT Art Deco style is used to give the luxurious looks as client requirements, with its characteristic of colorful that can give ambience of creativity, compatible with client personality as architecture student. Color combination of navy and tuquoise blue as client expected to, and grey color to give touch of modernity and masculine looks.

The pattern of Crystal is used to be the aesthetic impression of his apartment and increase the luxurious looks as client requirement.

FURNITURE EXPLORATION DESIGN OF NUSANTARA

ISSUES

A course with 4 credits. Developing theoritical and applicable insights regarding the basic planning and production of simple furniture and elements related to the definition of furniture design. Its implementation on the premise of function, material, shape composition, dimensions, color, and production process. Students are asked to produce furniture with natural materials such as bamboo, rattan, and wood with the theme of Indonesian culture.

Rattan is one of the endemic plant of Indonesia, it represent Indonesia as a tropical country. And as a country with tropical rainforest wealth, Indonesia has many endemic fauna. One of the endemic fauna in Indonesia rainforest is the monarch butterfly.

Rajhung is an abbreviation of "Raja Tanjhung", which is the Kupu-kupu Raja or Kalimantan Monarch Butterfly and the Pohon Tanjung or middlesice evergreen tree which is the main inspiration of this masterpiece rajhung.

The shape of Rajung's is inspired by the shape of the monarch butterfly wings. From the side view, the back and the feet will look like butterfly wings, and the user is like sitting and huggep by the butterfly wings. It is World's rare butterfly species scattered in Indonesia.

The Monarch Butterfly is a testament to the richness of the charm of the Indonesian fauna.

Tanjung Flower One of the famous webbing rattan in Indonesia is Bunga Tanjung pattern. In Indonesia, pohon tanjung or middle-sized evergreen tree entered Indonesia in the spread of Hindu culture from India. Tanjung comes from the words "tandha" and "ajhunjung" which means upholding trust. This tree is considered sacred because it is believed to be the place where the gods descend to earth, and until now this tree is cultivated mainly in the Javanese palace area because it has its own philosophy for the people of Yogyakarta.

BIOTROPICAL AND HEALING ENVIRONMENT CONCEPT FOR THERAPEUTIC COMMUNITY

ISSUES

Interior Design and Functtion is studio course with 5 credits. This course aims to make students able to analyze objects of interior design study through considerations of function, ergonomics, materials, construction, utility, semiotics, and SDGs so that they can formulate design problems. Students are able to compile a design concepts with users with spesific needs that can accomodate user functions, such as toddler or elderly subjects, wheelchair users, or users with mental or physical disorder.

More than 28% of illegal drugs users in Indonesia is a child and teenager among students. It caused by some factors, such as social environment that give them social pressure, anxiety, and depression. However, many of rehabilitation center in Indonesia get less attention from the government.

Based on these conditions, and in order to realizing SDGs point 3 that is good health and well being, and point 4 that is quality education, a solution s needed to provide rehabilitation center that appropriate for ex-drug addict, especially for teenager. The solution are rehabilitation house for therapeutic community with healing environment concept.

Therapeutic community is one of non medical method of drug rehabilitation's stages. This community is a family-based structured community environment to change human behavior to be more resposibly.

2nd floor Environmental factors have a role of 40% in human healing. Healing environment is a health facility environment that can speed up the recovery time of the patient's health by involving the patient's psychological effects in it. There is 3 healing concept that applied in this project.

That is : 1. Biophilic Design. This concept is maximizing plant and water on interior treatment. It based on the aspect of unifying human relations with natural environment with the aim of producing a space that can improve the mental and physical welfare of human life.

Considering with those reason, tropical style is used to bring natural element and give holiday mood to the users.

2. Interactive design is used to reduce stress and ennui of teenager in rehabilitation house.

Due to they are on an unstable temper and emotion and must to carry out therapeutic community about 3 months.

3. Selection colors of this project must with be bright and neutral color, not use striking color or complex pattern, so pastel colors that is gentle and calm is used to this house, considering the psychological and emotional aspect of ex-drug addict.

BACKGROUND

Interior Design and Technology is studio course with 5 credits, developing capabilities and theoretical and applicable insights regarding interior design planning of public facilities with office functions with specialization in technology applications and elements related to interior design.

The design must to represent the image and the vision of the corporate, with a minimum area of 160 m2.

Creative Media is a Digital Agency & IT Consultant company in Surabaya that focuses on computer courses and training. In addition, Creative Media also provides design services, web programming and mobile apps for its clients.

The Creative Media office implements an open space plan office system, where the widest open area in the office is can be used by all divisions, including managers who play a role in overseeing the performance of their staff. As a company engaged in IT, electronic devices are very much needed. However, there is no interior solution that supports a cable management system as well as a good storage system. Beside that, the design looks need to improve visual identity to improve the corporate image.

In addition, as an office based on a house, the home office needs to pay more attention to the needs of the office as a residence, such as living room facilities, bedrooms, and other needs. Interior design must also consider the division between public and private areas so that it is comfortable for corporate owner to use.

Creative Media's office interior design uses a smart-contemporary concept and smart office system to support activities. The design is not tied to conventional design styles but has a slight industrial touch, as well as freedom of expression. This expression is shown in the use of navy blue and orange, which are corporate identities, combined with neutral colors such as gray and beige. The co-working divisional concept is applicated in a desk system, based on division to improve work quality, but still provides a free area to work casually. This office is based as a Home Office, so its layout provides a private and rest area for the director.

Nusantara Interior Design is a course with 3 credits. Nusantara design explores the interior elements and architecture of the archipelago, as well as Indonesian regional culture that can be applied as interior elements. The students are asked to raise a theme from one of Indonesian localities, creating transformations of processed motifs into contemporary batik pattern forms but still maintaining that identity.

Asmat is one of the region in West Indonesia, Papua. It is refer to the ethnic group in Papua, called as Asmat tribe. The Asmat tribe is rich of the cultures, such as Asmat batik. The batik motif depicts the Asmat tribal motifs which are generally found on wooden statues. Describe the cultures that exist in Papua, such as tifa, shield, pattern, paradise bird, and etc. Asmat batik is usually made by using natural dyes from terracotta soil. This type of batik motif is generally produced in many areas in Papua, including the province of West Papua. Beside of its batik, Asmat has unique patterns that appears in their body painting, shield, statue, and even its batik.

Based on its cultures, there is so much thing to explore to make a brand new contemporary batik pattern, but still maintaining the identity of Asmat tribe.

Hopefully, the contemporary batik pattern can be used for some. interior elements or accessories and give the ambience of the cultural wealth of Asmat tribe.

design results concepts Yamate or the shield from Asmat Papua is a tool to protect oneself from enemy attacks during regional warfare in Papua. Usually this tool is used in the hand and accompanied by another weapon in the form of a spear. Now, Yamate are developed and used as accessories in war dances. The typical Papuan shield is made of wood with characteristic carvings that have philosophical values and symbolic meanings.

And the concepts below is inspired by the characteristic carvings of the Yamate.

Interior Design and Culture is studio course with 5 credits. This course aims to make students able to analyze object of interior design study, through public place such as school, station, restaurant, museum and etc. Students are able to compile a design concept with considering human culture and behavior, and explore artifact culture around the world, with still regards to aesthetica, functiona, and technologies application.

The Chinese ethnicity is an international ethnic group with the largest population living in Surabaya. Chinese culture has influenced many aspects of culture in Indonesia, including in Surabaya with various cultural acculturations. The thickest acculturation of Indonesian-Chinese culture can be seen from a culinary perspective. Like the culture of eating with the main menu of rice, Indonesian fried rice dishes which are the second most delicious food in the world according to CNN's version, are the result of acculturation of Indonesian-Chinese culture.

Kartiko Heritage is one of the traditional culinary tours located in Surabaya, which brings back the unique atmosphere of China and the Peranakan heritage that can be enjoyed by all people, especially families. Based on its name "Heritage", this restaurant carries the theme of Indonesian-Chinese culinary heritage inspired

by Chinese travelers who settled in Indonesia.

concept Indochine is a design style that refers to Southeast Asian culture, which is influenced by Chinese culture. This style is used to representative Indonesia as a part of Southeast asian, with the dominant characteristics are wood appearance, dense of ornamentation, and use of geometric motifs. To give and increase the Indonesia chracteristic, rattan is used to representative Indonesia as its endemic plant from Indonesia as a tropical archipelago.

Indonesian traditional impressions are presented through the use IndonesianChinese acculturated batik motifs that is Batik Lembang and the geometric batik that refer to Indochine's characteristic is Batik Kawung.

The looks of interior will be presented in a luxurious atmosphere, with the use of gold colors and materials with a quality appearance; and bring the intimate asmophere as a family restaurant with partition and hanging lamp.

Home decor is one of the specialization course with 3 credits. It is the advancing level of interior aesthetic and function, so this course aims students to deepen interior home design, such as apartment and house. The object of study in home decor focused on interior elements treatment, with considerations of function, aesthetic, materials, construction, utility, and semiotics.

This course give student an opportunity to design based on a real existing and client. Students are able to compile design concept in appropriate client requirements.

Family of five members, with one household assistant. The husband (35 years old) working as a private bank employee, and the wife (35 years old) in a BUMN company, with 3 sons aged 10 years, 6 years, and 1 year.

The matriks hubungan ruang is according to the designed by the architect, so the client just require the furniture lay out and its design looks.

The wife request the interior must be looks natural as well as elegant, and the wall is full of aesthetic treatment or ornaments. And the others is free by the designer to designed.

CONCEPT Based on the client requested about the design looks, that is natural and elegant. The aesthetic of webbing rattan is used to gives a natural looks and touch of tropical Indonesia impression. Beside that, the pattern of webbing rattan is being the accentuation of some rooms. Wooden looks at floors, wall panels, and furnitures gives another natural ambience, and it brings an elegancy for the interior. The other elegant concept is brought by the gold color accentuate that appears on some elements such as hanging lamp, furnitures, and wall decoration. The marble slate as wall panel is used for touch of luxurious impression and amplify the elegant concept.

PROJECT BRIEF Accessories Interior Design is a course with 3 credits. This course aims students to do interior styling with explore and learn about accessories interior for specific interior style.

On the mid semester project, students are able to concept a ceramic design. It can be just for an aesthetic element or functional element accessories. The challenge of this project is student must be design a modular concept, which means the ceramic is a modular element so it can be has some configurations when its connected.

Oakish as a modular ceramic, beside from being able to be displayed with its arrangement configuration, is also designed to each module can stand independently. In fact, the shape of the module allows it to be flipped on the top and bottom side.

With this concept, the user can compose an attractive arrangement of a set of Oakish like a collection.

Oakish - modular ceramic with organic shape resembling a cylindrical curve, inspired by the shape of the stem of an Oak tree (Quercus), which has the characteristics of long, twisting, and branching, which is transformed into a simpler form in a modular ceramic set.

There is a separate joint made of silicone rubber in the form of a cylinder with a diameter of 3 cm and a length of 5 cm. The tough material keeps the joint tight and stable, and besause its flexible so makes it easy to join even for curved shapes.

PROJECT BRIEF Accessories Interior Design is a course with 3 credits. This course aims students to do interior styling with explore and learn about accessories interior for specific interior style.

On the last project of this course, students must create an product of accessories interior from terracotta clay. It is free for students to explore about the theme and object of this project. It can be a vase, urn, texture painting, or others.

The waves crashing along with the objects that are dragged in it, the abstract shape of the coral and the pieces of shells.

Beside from being an aesthetic and interior room accessories, this ceramic can be used as a flower vase. Suitable for natural, nautical, tropical, or coastal themed interiors.

The unit places at the corner of the building so it gets double views in 17th floor.

The unit is the new residence for young couple.

The husband (25) is a private worker and the wife (27) as the housewife and currently pregnant. They need masterbedroom, kid bedroom, tv room, and enough space for kitchen because the wife is like to cooking. They require to have many storage due to living in small space, and request the design is have wooden looks and use sage green as accentuation.
