Academy For Disaster Resilience -
A beacon of hope

Core concept: Epicenter and the proximity of earthquake
“Academy for disaster resilience and management center” serves as a beacon of preparedness and response in the face of escalating country’s risk posed by the natural & manmade disaster. It serves as a hub for research, training, & collaboration, brining together multidsciplinary expertise to adress multifaceated changes.
Understanding the current state of disaster management in Nepal and recognizing the need of a proper academy, the design proposal was initiated.
The planning was done on the basis of the phases of disaster ; prevention and mitigation (EWS), preparedness (academy & memorial) and lastly, respose and recovery;the crucial.

The memorial / experience center main function is to sensitize the visitors about the effect / aftermaths of treacherous disaster. It is designed such that it provides the journey of an outcome of disaster to the end. Play of light and shadow as well as height play is the main design approach used here.

Sports complex - An athletic hub
“Sports complex for Purwanchal university” would act as a social and recreational center for physical, mental and cognitive development.
Project type: Recreational center
Site location: Purwanchal campus, Dharan
Total Site Area: 4,700 sq.m
Core concept: Sense of connectivity & response to the nature
The prime objective was to design a hub which helps to promote sport spirit among youngsters.To design an inclusive space and to design the building blocks as if it rises off the site.
Recognizing the need of a dedicated play area, social space ; overall a recreational area for students of the university, the design of sports complex was proposed.
It is designed such that pocket of interactive spaces are formed promoting unplanned encounter as well as interconnected building.

Core concept: Using existing pond as the base design element and moulding all funtion in organic manner around it.
“Park sanfebagar “ design was initiated as per the idea of client to evoke the sense of calmness as well as reflect their particular culture, their area and village.
The main project objective was to design the inclusive park for the community and to make them feel that it was their own space.
An existing irregular pond was designed afterwards in a systematic manner and all the important functions such as seating and playing area was arranged around it.

Core concept: Hierarchial divison of function from public to private vertically.
“Citizen Investment trust
“ is a project designed in 3rd year . It was to be designed for government of Nepal as a branch office.
The main objective was to make the building comfortable against the estreme heat of Itahari as well as to make the building stand out from the neighbouring area.
Play with volumes was done to develop the form. As per the research concave structure helps to reflect more heat and make the area comfortable.
Building opening is mostly placed north and south and a concave structure is placed towards road side to highligh t the grandeur of a government building with double height structure.
