Hints and Tips for Motorways
Looking
Look as far as you can see to spot hazards at the earliest opportunity.
Signs are placed above and to the sides and will give you informaon to help you plan your journey.

Posion
Posion yourself far enough back to be able to see around the vehicle you are about to overtake.
Give yourself space and me to ancipate any situaons that may develop.
Speed and Gear
Adjust your speed to the vehicles already in lane one for you to be able to join in the gap safely. If there is no gap to join, use the hard shoulder and join as soon as it is safe to do so.
Mirrors and Signal
Check your mirrors to allow vehicles to join into lane 1 and then move back when safe to do so. When joining the motorway, tell other road users what your intenons are by signalling early allowing them me to accommodate you joining.
