The documentary film ‘Grasya’ helmed by Ryand Angelo Ugalde and his team Ruth Ann Bagaoisan, Dana Meryl Gapas, and John Bryan Dela Curz, all communication students, bagged first place in the University Student Council’s (USC) ‘Babae Ka Hindi Babae Lang’ documentary competition.
‘Grasya’ follows a student who was once the character of her own pictureperfect life story. But when a sensitive video was leaked involving her, the narrative changed. Knowing what it feels like to be hopeless, her struggles led her to change the lives of other people.
Meanwhile, Mr. Adrianne Lorenzo C. Corpuz and Ms. Melody H. Allado, two faculty members from DLL, graced their exquisite Inabel attire during the runway presentation and competition and garnered second and third place, respectively, during the Rubuat ken Aruat 2.0.
Rubuat ken Aruat highlighted the achievements of women and recognized their essential contributions in various fields such as politics, education, health, and culture, as well as promoted awareness and preservation of the Ilokano cultures and emphasized the importance of creating a more inclusive and equitable society. The culmination program featured various activities, including cultural song and dance presentations, a fashion show, cultural showcases, awarding certificates of recognition to gender advocates and retirees, and the awarding of contested activities for National Women’s Month and the Ilokano food Innovation and cookfest competition.
