The ten day Crocodile Trophy stage race covers over 1,200KM of dirt roads, trails and pavement, often in temperatures reaching over 100 degrees. Do not let photos of wide dirt roads fool you. This is a tough race! Intense sun, heat, and long days in the saddle on bone jarring roads filled with power sucking dust and sand. There was even a bush fire thrown in for good measure in 2009. Here’s a look back at the 2009 Crocodile Trophy through the photos of John Flynn and Regina Stanger. For more information on this very cool stage race, visit crocodile-trophy.com.
