Ways to prepare turmeric milk
Straight TALK ISMAIL ASMAL Cell: 0832558337 Email: iasmal687@gmail.com
It really churns one’s stomach to read this drivel Hi folks. Now that the summer hols and the euphoria around the matric results is over, welcome to 2014, which promises to be quite eventful, especially with the elections (Oh my goodness!) that will come our way. (As I write this, Nigeria has just scored the 3rd goal against SA. I wonder what Fikile Mbalula will single out now). Today's issue was addressed by me around August 2013, and many other perceptive, discerning thinkers wrote ad nauseum in the local and national press about some dimwits who are trying their damndest to derail the progress of our country. The Mazibuye African Forum is persevering in its war cry of 'removing Indians from the tender process'. 'No more tenders for Indians', 'Black businesspeople in KwaZulu-Natal threaten to boycott the ANC if they
How to add this miracle spice to a health and wellness regimen? Turmeric is available in supplement form in many health food stores, but why not try to spice things up. Hot turmeric milk can be easily prepared at home. Adding black pepper to the mixture will greatly increase the absorption of turmeric into the body. It also gives the drink a spicy kick. For one serving you will need: - One cup milk (whole or 2% milk, almond milk or coconut milk beverage); - 1/4-1/2 teaspoon turmeric; - 3/4- 1 teaspoon honey or agave nectar (depending on desired sweetness); - 1/4- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom (if desired); - Pinch of powdered ginger or small piece of peeled ginger root; - Dash of vanilla extract; - Dash of black pepper or black peppercorns; - Pinch of cloves (if desired); - Pinch of allspice (if desired)… and a - Strainer or sieve 1) Heat the milk on the stove. When milk becomes warm, add turmeric powder. Stir slowly to dissolve any lumps. The liquid will take on a rich, mustard color. 2) Add the honey, ginger root, vanilla and spices. 3) Keep the pot on gentle heat for a few minutes. 4) Pour the milk through a fine sieve to remove the ginger root, cardamom and pepper. (The turmeric can be a bit grainy, too.) 5) Enjoy! All ingredients can be adjusted for individual tastes! According to WebMD.com: “it has been known to cause nausea and stomach upset in some individuals, especially in high doses. Pregnant women should not use turmeric supplements. Talk to a doctor before using turmeric supplements regularly if you have any medical conditions, like gallbladder or kidney disease, bleeding disorders, diabetes, or immunity problems. Since turmeric can potentially increase bleeding, stop taking it at least two weeks before any surgery. If you take any medicines regularly, talk to your doctor before you start using turmeric supplements. They could interact with medicines like aspirin, NSAID painkillers, statins, diabetes drugs, blood pressure medicines, and blood thinners. They might also interact with supplements that decrease clotting, like ginkgo, ginseng, and garlic.” Please consult your doctor.

forgotten, that Indians were in the forefront of the struggle against apartheid, and many were banned, exiled, tortured, murdered, and banished to the infamous island. Yet they were the 'Think Tank' and 'Brains Trust' that worked assiduously for SA's liberation. It seems now that their purpose has been served, they are not Black enough to fit in the new democracy. However, there are some young Indian mayors and councilors who, for their own selfish monetary reasons, may not agree with me, as they stand to lose a lot if they protest. Quite honestly, some of these tender bidders had it coming to them a long time ago. A quick glance at the ridiculous figures that they overcharge will reveal the all-consuming greed that engulfs them, because they know that state will pay. Oh, how I reflect on the prophetic wisdom of my dear old maternal grandmum (Naneema) who always told us 'not to be a part of the struggle, as things will turn around and bite you. And quite strangely, poor granny did not have any formal education, but an abundance of good, old common sense that guided her. God must seriously bless South Africa!! don't get their way.' 'Mazibuye, a group that wants Indians to be excluded from affirmative action and BEE programmes, says it has more than 10 000 members in the province. 'We do not want Indians to benefit from these programmes', said its ANC card-carrying member Phumlani Mfeka, who is contesting to become the ANCYL president. The Mazibuye African Forum has distributed very provocative pamphlets in Durban, Pietermaritzburg and Newcastle that stop just short of inciting violence against Indians. The authors make the following points: *Why do black people vote for “the congress” but Indians get rich; *Why does congress makes empty promises” when it is engaged. “We are not fools; time will tell.” *We “love the congress,
but as black businesspeople, we are fed up with your Indians”. In a recent interview, the founder of Mazibuye Forum, Zweli Sangweni, said he was aware the pamphlet could spark a war between Indians and Black people in KwaZulu-Natal, especially in Durban, “where people were growing impatient with the lack of economic transformation”. Sangweni, a young professional (what does he know about apartheid?) who was relatively unknown in the political scene until launching Mazibuye about a year ago, confirmed that “the congress” referred to the ANC. “If the ANC does not address this issue, a civil war could break out in KwaZulu-Natal, because people are very angry,” he said. “They are tired of being enslaved by Indians in their own land. They are saying the ANC sold them out and gave the economy to the Indians to control at the expense of their constituencies.” Sangweni said Indians in KwaZulu-Natal don't vote for the ANC, but for the Minority Front and the DA, “yet the ANC favours Indians and forgets about blacks.' As much as we should treat these statements with utmost contempt, the ANC must not remain silent on the issue. Let us again remind everyone, lest it be

Precautions against heat exhaustion Child Welfare uniform drive By Xpress Reporter
Severe heat may cause illness or even death. These precautions may help to reduce the risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke: • Stay indoors and in an airconditioned environment as much as possible; • Eat more frequently but make sure meals are balanced and light; • Never leave any person or pet in a closed, parked vehicle; • Avoid dressing babies in heavy clothing or wrapping them in warm blankets; • Check frequently on people who are elderly, ill or may need help. If you might need help, arrange to have family, friends or neighbours check in with you at least twice a day throughout warm weather periods; • Make sure pets have plenty of water; • Salt tablets should only be taken if specified by your doctor. If you are on a saltrestrictive diet, check with a doctor before increasing salt intake;

HYDRATION IS KEY: Drink plenty of fluids but avoid beverages that contain alcohol, caffeine or a lot of sugar
• If you take prescription diuretics, antihistamines, mood-altering or antispasmodic drugs, check with a doctor about the effects of sun and heat exposure; • Cover windows that receive morning or afternoon sun. Awnings or louvers can reduce the heat entering a
house by as much as 80 percent. If you go outside: • Plan strenuous outdoor activities for early or late in the day when temperatures are cooler; • Take frequent breaks when working outdoors; • Wear a wide-brimmed hat, sun block and light-
coloured, loose-fitting clothes when outdoors; • At first signs of heat illness (dizziness, nausea, headaches, muscle cramps), move to a cooler location, rest for a few minutes and slowly drink a cool beverage. Seek medical attention immediately if you do not feel better.

Best Answer given by an Indian Citizen: My Income Tax return form has been sent back because, In response to a question for 'Number of Dependents on you?', I replied 65% of population who don't pay taxes, 2.1 million illegal immigrants 9,00,000 criminals in over 1382 prisons and above all 769 idiots in parliament. They said, this is not an acceptable answer. Goa Radio organised a competition for poems, in which the first line must be romantic, but the second lin should be the opposite. This was the winning poem: My darling, my lover, my beautiful wife. Marrying you messed up my life. I see your face when I am dreaming. That’s why I always wake up screaming. Kind, intelligent, loving and hot; this describes everything you are not. I love your smile, you face and your eyes. Damn, I’m good at telling lies! My feelings for you, no words can tell, except for maybe “Go to hell”. What inspired this amazing rhyme? A bottle of tequila, one part lime!

Tragedy struck at Ballito's Salmon Bay area after a swimmer got caught in a rip current on Monday, 20 January 2014. According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, the 29-year-old swimmer apparently hit a rip current and was swept out to sea. “His friends watched him disappear under the water,” said Botha.
Limited job opportunities and retrenchments have resulted in high unemployment rates. As a result many parents cannot meet the educational needs of their children. The cancellation of grants and the lack of supportive resources also contribute to parent's inability to provide their children with their most basic need in education. Child support grants cater for children up to the age of 17 years. According to the new Children's Act, children can attend school up to the age of 21 years. Many widows and single parents with children over the age of 17-years have no source of income and are

Bad blood A family feud between two siblings has resulted in a neardeath experience for Mary-Jane Nyamuwela. She alleges that their feuding goes back a long way. Since her sister secured a job nearer home she has returned home and the bad blood between them has worsened. Despite intervention by family members, no-one has been successful in resolving their dispute. Last week, MaryJane alleges that she was attacked by her sister who stabbed her several times in the upper body as she lay on the floor. Her sister's boyfriend tried to separate them but she chased after her before being slapped. Agnes Nyamuwela (43) was granted bail and is due back in court on 18 February 2014. Over supply The abundance of Whoonga in the Lower Tugela area is shocking. Daily, police stop and search youth and almost certainly come up with the goods. In the latest incident, Umhlali Police officers searched a man in the area and found 95 straws of Whoonga in his possession. Thembelani Director Sibiya (19) of Nkobongo who is unemployed
Mdabe, visited Shakaskraal Secondary, Chief Albert Luthuli High and Madlanga Junior Secondary last Wednesday, 15 January 2014. The other delegation monitored the progress at Sabuyaze High, Vukile High and Shekembula High Schools in Ndwedwe and Maphumulo also on the first day of school. A stakeholders meeting was held at Sibusisiwe Hall in Mandeni the following day with members of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, school principals, teachers, school governing bodies and more. The meeting
Future criminal A 12-year-old child has had too many incidents involving crime. In the incident she alleges that she was approached by a couple who told her to give her all the cash in the safe as her grandmother had allowed them to take the money. When her grandmother discovered the missing money, her neighbor offered to help. Several days elapsed before contact was made with the grandmother. The girl alleged she was being held captive by her neighbor and his girlfriend. Police in Mayville located the trio and found all to be in order. When the trio returned the truth came out that she was the mastermind. Her two accomplices, Sandile Gumede (27) and Nobile Fumbu (18) are in custody and due back in court this week on a charge of theft. The girl has once again slipped through the system because of her age. Prisoners' rights Sphiwe Ntuli of Russell Street alleges that he and his girlfriend were released from prison on 3 January 2014 after spending a month in custody.

Intentions not enough A young Maphumulo girl who was returning from a store in the industrial area had a narrow escape from a would-be rapist. She alleges that she was followed by three men. One grabbed her by the arm and dragged her into a nearby bush. He began assaulting her and threatened to rape her. A passerby, attracted by the commotion, scared the man away. Fortunately at this stage a passing police vehicle noticed the distraught victim and after a brief chase, managed to arrest the culprit. However, based on the facts, the man was only charged with assault based on the law. Bheki Nxumalo (47) is due back in court this week to seek bail. All are invited. Am Nozipho from Newcastle from reading the local newspaper I've seen testimonies of many people and contacted many others who recommended me to MAAMA. Then I contacted her for an appointment. I could not believe it when she told me everything that was happening in my life. She prayed for me and showed me all the evil that were done in my life. She even showed me the people who were responsible in a dish of sea water. Then she cleansed me and gave me some holy water to use which changed everything in a few days. Now we are living a happy life. I want to thank her for guiding me and saving my life. There is no way I can thank her other than informing the public about her.

AFTER SUFFERING IN PAIN FOR SO MANY YEARS, MAMA SHEILLAH SOLVED MY PROBLEMS Mrs. Moodley (48 Years) from Stanger. My husband of 4 kids was so abusive, drinking and smoking too much. Sometimes he could go out with his friends with women. I read a love sms from his phone and I phoned the lady. From that time I realised he was also cheating on me. He was not buying groceries and not helping at all. A friend of mine referred me to MAMA SHEILLAH who she said MAMA SHEILLAH helped her with husband to come back. I decided to consult MAMA SHEILLAH who read all my problems. She prayed for me and gave me a small potion to use at home. Within three days my husband stopped his abusive ways and confessed that he had an affair but he has stopped. We now live together happily. Thank you MAMA SHEILLAH. R.Maharaj (52 Years) My neighbours were so jealous of my success, I was a successful businessman but every morning I would see bones wrapped in a red cloth with Muthi. My company was loosing tenders, I sold 4 of my trucks, I sold my bakkie in one year my business collapsed was losing tenders, I had so many debts until I read an article in the newspaper about MAMA SHEILLAH award winner for healing. I decided to phone her. She booked an appointment before I could say anything she told me that I have financial hardships and it’s because my neighbour is jealous. I broke into tears and sat down. She cleansed me and told me to stay away from my neighbour for one week. I went back and told her and she prayed for me. After 3 months my business started to pick up and now I opened up another branch and I paid all my debts and I bought a new house. Now I am living a happy life with my family. Those suffering like me try her for better results. Thank you MAMA SHEILLAH

RICH MEN SINGLE WOMEN I used to live in a huge mansion waiting for my husband. Him thinking that the money he gave was all needed. The only time he came home was to throw parties and share with his wealthy friends. He would come to bed tired saying he got early appointments. Loser rant: Mbalula not sorry Sports minister Fikile Mbalula will not apologise for his scathing comments that Bafana Bafana are a "bunch of losers". Mbalula shocked the sporting fraternity on Monday when he slammed Bafana after they were eliminated from the African Nations Championship (CHAN) after losing 3-1 to Nigeria at Cape Town Stadium. "What I saw there was not a problem of coaching, it was a bunch of losers, who don't have any respect for this country and don't have any respect for anybody," Mbalula told a packed media conference in Cape Town on Monday. "That goalkeeper (Moeneeb Josephs), he was
playing with the team, but he added up a whole lot of mess. "The second goal... the goalkeeper commits a penalty, alone, singlehandedly, and without being assisted by anybody," Mbalula said. "I love Moeneeb Josephs but I don't know what was going on with him yesterday (Sunday)... that is a total disgrace, a performance like that. "I saw outside, people were lining up to greet them (Bafana Bafana). "I'll never greet them, I did not even go to the dressing room, I did not even call

them. "To me, that was a disaster." Mbalula's comments sparked an outrage on social media sites, with some calling him to retract his statement and apologise. The Democratic Alliance also labelled Mbalula's comments as "utterly disgraceful". However, according to Tuesday's Cape Times, the minister will not apologise. Mbalula's spokesperson, Paena Galane, said there is nothing to withdraw and that the country has had enough of Bafana's poor performances.

Yathin and Bazil have trained hard over the past months and both runners aim to finish the marathon in under the 5 hour mark. In a T20 League match played at the Gledhow Country Club grounds on Saturday, 18 July, Warriors played Maphumulo. The Tangerine mafias were sent in to bat first and set a target of 97 in their allotted overs, with a loss of 8 wickets, with Martin Naicker scoring 19 and Riaz Mahomed 15. N Mjadu was the pick of the Maphumulo bowlers claiming 3/14. In the
Maphumulo innings, Warriors immediately went in on the attack with pace bowler Rishen Mathapershad claiming 2 wickets in the first over. The second over saw a further wicket fall at the hands of Mujahed Ahmad. The other bowlers also got in on the action cleaning house in the 10th over with the score on 37. None of the batsmen reached double digits. Rishen Mathapershad, Sohail Younus and Austin Govender
all claimed 3 wickets apiece. Warriors won by a mammoth 60 runs and the team dedicated the win in memory Rishen's loveable St Bernard retriever, Rex, who is now in doggy heaven. Warriors manager Rajiv Mathapershad was deeply touched by the teams sentiments when they brought in Rishen in the 10th over and spurred him on to claim the last wicket. against Mandeni in a 50 over league match at Gledhow. Warriors, who fielded their younger players for this match, went in to bat first, with opener Tauqeer Malik hammering the ball all over the ground ending his innings on 81 with 7 fours and 2 sixes. TIME TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE WIITH GREAT BABA DUBE
Warriors jubilant after double header
Thank you baba dube for changing my life
I wish I knew great Baba Dube a long time ago. I would have not wasted a lot of money by visiting lots of herbalists and doctors including Sangoma’s to sort my financial problems. I decided to visit him with my wife and my brother in law, after I heard about him through my colleague who he helped bring her husband back after 3 years of seperation and he gave us different ways but I chose the magic wallet that brings me R10 000.00 everyday and I pay him R30 000.00 every week from the R70 000.00 that I get every week (7days) and my wife chose the short boys to put money in her bank account but it was like a miracle to see R200 000.00 in her account that Baba Dube used his short boys to put money in the account and she paid him R50 000.00 while my brother in law chose to win the Lotto and Baba Dube used his powers to see the lucky numbers appearing on the draw and he won the draw and he told him to pay 30% from that money he won, There is no way we Tshabalala family can thank him other than informing the people who got financial problems about him.
I am NTOMBIFUTHI MKHIZE a mother of three aged 36 born in Ladysmith but now I live in Soweto and my contact number is 078 0600 796. I have been reading different testimonies in various newspapers for people that Baba Dube helped through their testimonies to be sure because I lost lots of money to different sangomas, doctors and herbalists who promised me to help me through my financial and love problems that I suffered for many years. But everyone I called gave me 100% promise and guarantee that Baba Dube will change my life like the way he did to them. Early in the morning I called him and he gave me different ways but I chose the SHORT BOYS to put R500.000 in my bank account. It happened exactly the way he said it and I paid him R100.000. After that I was very excited and asked him if I can use MAGIC WALLET to get R10,000 everyday and he promised to deliever within 24hrs so that he can show me how it works to get R10.000 everyday and asked me to pay him R30,000 per week from the R70,000 that I get everyweek for only a year . To thank Baba Dube, I introduced him to myy uncle and his wife and they chose to win LOTTO and POWERBALL. Baba Dube gave them their lucky numbers appearing on the 10th spetmeber powerball draw while his wife won the lotto on the 18th September. They both paid him 30% of their winnings. Now they use RATS tobring money into the house everyday and they pay every week. I published this testimony to thank Baba Dube for changing my life and also to inform everybody who got serious financial problems and love problems to contact Baba Dube now before you waste your money to herbalist and doctors who promise to help but fail and leave you in bigger problems than before.

Sangweni claimed 2 wickets apiece. Tight bowling from Warriors restricted the run rate to 2 per over and it was game over for Mandeni in the 39th over with the score on 68. N. Mjadu 25, B. Sibiya 12 and X. Shobade 11 tried hard to salvage the game but excellent fielding from the Warriors camp gave them no room to move. M. Ebrahim was in devastating form claiming 3/4 off 5 overs with 2 maiden-wicket overs with Martin Naicker 3/9 off 6 overs. Warriors International won by 117 runs claiming 4.85 bonus points in the process with a total of 8.85 match points. In keeping with the development of younger players, Manager Rajiv Mathapershad and Coach Charles Naicker opted to give the players a chance to improve their bowling skills rather than go for maximum bonus points, fielding eight bowlers. This was also evident in the T20 match when they allowed every bowler the opportunity to claim wickets.
