hairman of the Ethics and AntiC or r upt i on Commission Philip Kinisu was this morning interrogated by officers at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations over his company business deals with the government. Kinisu who arrived at 9:45 accompanied by his lawyer Wanyonyi Chebukati at the criminal investigations department headquarters along Kiambu road was summoned by the detectives to shed light on how his family company, Esaki Limited, won lucrative government tenders worth millions of shillings. Kinisu did not address the press saying he will do so after his meeting with the detectives “I will address the press later, he said before getting into the CID headquarters,” Kinisu was questioned for two hours and left hurriedly without addressing the press as he had promised. Kenyan arrested in India for gold smuggling

A Kenyan airline staffer who had allegedly tried to smuggle gold into the country was nabbed by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai police. The arrested accused had concealed the gold bars weighing 7.5 kg and worth Sh34 million in the cabin crew section. Acting on a tip-off that a Kenyan would deliver a huge contraband of narcotic drugs, an ANC team from Worli unit kept a close watch near the Hyatt Regency in Sahar on Saturday evening.
