I

have a dream! That one day i’ll study fashion and industrial engineering.

But you can imagine

that everything happens the opposite way you

want it!

Now, i’m a stipendium hungaricum student

studying bsc of mechanical engineering at university of dunaújváros.

The year i won my scholarship, the major i wanted didn’t open (lucky me!) So, the tempus offered me to study mechanical engineering, and i was like what is mechanical? How and why?! After starting this, i kind of liked it. But that’s not the whole story of course! Even applying for a major i didn’t dream of, i had the most awkward experience! I passed all the weird tests and interviews for this major, and got accepted. All good for now, i can start my future in europe, but no! I had bad luck!! After applying for a visa at the embassy, and doing every step, my visa was rejected! Not once! But twice!! I spent three months going back and forth to the embassy in cairo which is an hour and half away from my city “zagazig”. Just for the employees to tell after checking thousands of times, that they mixed my papers with someone else! Also, i missed the whole first semester, but the scholarship offered me postponement to not lose it, and i arrived finally! Just to have a global pan” fucking” demic when i arrived! And got stuck in quarantine for 6 months!! That’s just one side of my life so now you can imagine how interesting the rest is!! 9

Have you shown love to yourself?

I

Asian girl. I was born and raised in Laos. I have tried to change am an

I see on the media. One day, I wanted to do plastic surgery. I asked my family and friends why standard

our noses were not like people on the internet. They told me that because we are

Asians, that’s how we are built.

I decided to have nose plastic surgery in another country Cuz I believed I would be more confident about my look and fit in social beauty standards.I went to the

US and Europe, and there were many tall people there. I laughed at my silly self and thought that I could not do surgery to get tall like them to fit in society.

I learned to accept myself for being who I am and love myself more. What about you? Have you ever done something to show love to yourself? 10

Oh the great greek mythology, full of wars, betrayals, and where half of the stories wouldn’t exist if zeus wasn’t horny one random summer night. We are all familiar to at least one of the adventures that happened with the gods and one of the most notorious one could be perhaps the story of daphne, where this nymph didn’t wanted to lose her virginity and asked her father to help her and she was turned into a tree, but what if it actually came from a love triangle?

Daphne was a naiad-nymph precious like no other and apollo was, as normal, over-romantic that didn’t go low on his desires. He saw unreachable boundaries on the nymph that carried the goodness, elegance and virginity, so much that he fell in love with her. Apollo pulled out all types of tactics pursuing daphne’s hand but she wasn’t having it.

The game of apollo to reach daphne went on and on for multiple weeks with one attempt dumber and dumber. But while the god tried to impress her with ornaments, music and gifts, daphne got to learn more about her notso secret admirer. How he always raised his eyebrow when flirting, how he looked at the sky every time before every act, how he practiced the lyra for hours in the forest to get the perfect tune. At the end it wasn’t the gifts nor the beauty of apollo, it was the small details that convinced daphne to give him a chance. Obviously he was full of ecstasy and fulfillment of finally reaching daphne’s heart and eros, of course, had “intervened” in the situation. The two went on like songbirds in the breeze of spring, singing, eating and spending time together but it wasn’t a lot of time until apollo wanted more, he wanted to kiss the goddess and also take her for a intimate ride, at

first daphne doubted herself saying that she was a nymph and that her virginity was her most precious possession and sign of purity, but in the other hand she really wanted to step up things with her now, boyfriend; so after

many nights of thinking she decided that there was nothing more pure that the love that emanated from two gods loving and caring to each other, so she accepted apollo’s request and went on to have a beautiful night together.

Time passed and apollo’s ego of course was now playing its part, he already got what he wanted and he wasn’t fit for only girls, someone quickly became the next admiration of his eyes: eros, god of carnal love, and for his surprise love, in this case, wasn’t a one way like with daphne. Eros’ only helped apollo because of how much he admired and fantized with the god who could see parts of the future. They almost immediately got together and started to enjoy each other's bodies, and daphne was already catching wind of her lover's true activities and mysterious activities but it wasn’t until the god of the sky helped her wind to find the truth, and she found them together. Her heart was broken, she gave up something that was so important for her not only for herself but also as a nymph and now it was worthless, the stories of eternal love she made in her head all came to the

same ending as the one hera used to have with zeus, and apollo was his

son after all, and followed his path. She cried and cried, making rivers overflow and nature shaped to a broken heart’s desire: go back to the

previous state of purity. She prayed to her father to do something while

apollo tried to appease her and asked for forgiveness, but it was too late.

Gods heard the commotion and decided to give daphne what she wanted and turned her into a laurel tree to prevent her from more suffering, apollo tried to prevent this and hugged the nymph but nothing stopped the transformation.

Every spring apollo contemplated the laurel trees, reminders of his mistake and symbols of true love and purity, filling the air with the smell of the season but also the nostalgia carried on by love. 27

“Never be content with what you are given. As It’s your duty to uncover secrets as an Inquisitor of the Empire.” That was what she was always told by her mentor. Normally she would just nod her head and wouldn’t think much upon hearing these but now these same old words didn’t let her get a wink of sleep. After hearing that her mentor went missing in the caverns and was presumed dead, she knew she had to find out what exactly had happened to her. A drop of water falling from the roof onto her steel helmet brought her back to her senses. Now she was here, wandering alone in the same cavern her mentor went missing. After three sleepless nights, she had left her post without notifying anyone. She had to uncover this secret so that she could feel a little peace within. So she kept walking. Her little gas lantern on her belt radiated a very dim light against the walls of these tight tunnels. Rumors said that these tunnels kept going under the whole region and were used by the creatures of the dark as means of transportation. Weirdly enough, she hadn’t seen anything yet. Despite the emptiness of the tunnel, she didn’t feel alone. She didn’t know If it was because of her lantern’s flickering light or her weary eyes but she always focused on somewhere in the dark as If

My name is Alisa and i am from Russia. I feel like a little pop star and to tell you a bit about myself: I love snowboarding and running in the parks, but most of all I love to go and sit on the verandas of restaurants while drinking delicious cocktails and talking about abstruse topics with friends. It is important for me to grow and develop, but i never forget to take some rest, sometimes feeling like I am relaxing more time that what i am working, but I don't worry, It will pass, the main thing is to live the moment, enjoy life and save stories for our children....

When I was a child, I wanted to open a cafe that would serve different types of tea and coffee. When I was a teenager, I wanted to be a movie actress, preferably in Hollywood. When I got older, I wanted to become a writer, not for money, but for the soul. Now I'm graduating from university and I don't know at all what I want to be. Because now is not the time to make quick and serious decisions, now is the time to make mistakes and try something new. And what my profession will be is not so important.

H

ave you ever thought of cooking yourself an easy

snack from scratch? Let’s be real, of course you didn’t.

--

Now let’s get started. First, the ingredients:

1 cup of yogurt

F

-2 eggs

1 dessert spoon of salt

--

1 pack of baking powder

1 pack of sesame seeds

--

3,5 cups of flour

sunflower oil water

Looks easy, right? We’ll be cooking an easy traditional Turkish snack called “Pişi (Pishi)” with these ingredients.

irst, we will start with the dough we need. Start with pouring a cup of yogurt into your bowl. Add two eggs, one pack of baking powder, and one dessert spoon of salt. Obviously, don’t add the eggshells.

Now you need to whisk the ingredients inside the bowl nicely. After whisking them together add 3,5 cups of flour. Then you should knead the mixture until you get the texture of the earlobe with your dough. If It’s too sticky, add more flour. But don’t make the dough dry. You can always use someone unlucky to test the taste of your dough. But remember the first rule of chemistry, don’t taste it yourself. Or something like that. By now you should have a nicely done dough. Prepare a small bowl of water and a bowl of sesame seeds. Before you do anything else, pour a good amount of sunflower oil into your pan and start heating it. While It’s heating you can continue preparing the snack. Take a piece from your dough size of a walnut and knead it into an oval shape in your hand. Make it thin and wide. Gently wet it in the bowl of water then dip it into the bowl of sesame seeds. You need to make sure It’s all covered. Do this until you use all of the dough. Remember, you just need to wet it gently. Don’t baptize the poor dough. When you are done, the oil in the pan should be hot and boiling. Gently drop the pieces in the hot oil and wait. Don’t forget to turn them over once in a while so one side doesn’t burn. Fry them until they turn orangish color. Congrats! It’s done. Now you can dress your plate and act like a famous chef with your easy snack! Enjoy your food. 46
