The map above is a map of the University of Melbourne and its surrounding shown by overlaying maps from various period of time. The stared point is the studying site which is the Concrete Lawn, also known as the Union Lawn.
There was a museum, on the west of the lake, situated at where union house is located now in 1896.
In the 1985 map, the lake was filled and turned into the Concrete Lawn due to space limitation. More buildings were built in the area such as the old commerce building and the Raymond Priestley Building.
