It features 40 stalls for vendors to set up, a teaching kitchen, a general office, a janitorial, two ADA bathrooms as well as a piazza space. A connection between the New York City streets and the artists
Location: NoHo, New York 40°43’38.3”N 73°59’37.1”W
Type: Design Museum
Size: 54,430 Sqft
The design museum is located is located at 375 Lafayette Street, on the corner of Lafayette and Great Jones street, in NoHo New York City. The museum strives to highlight the connection between the streets of New York City with the museum and the artist that are displayed in it. The main idea behind the design concept was visualization, the possibility of having different perspectives of the pieces of art work as well as people from multiple places in the museum. The first four floors are pushed back, allowing the fifth floor to be cantilever, as well as creating an exterior space that acts as a buffer zone.

I had the pleasure to do a full-time 8 months academic internship at the Lawrence Group in their New York office. The office had a team of 9, including myself, so I got to rotate between projects as needed and was very involved in each of them. I was able to participate in some site visits, participate in a design meeting and learn a lot about New York City’s building codes. Some of my tasks included the creation of drawings, renderings, and 3D models, research of zoning laws and regulations, development of Permit and Construction sets, and the production of mood-boards and client presentations.

An unique experience
Location: Vatican City, Italy 41°54’5.99”N 12°27’5.39”E
I studied abroad in Orvieto, Italy during the Fall 2021 semester. The experience was amazing and unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. There was nine of us there compared to other years were they’ve had around 40-50 students, so all of our workshops and travels were very personal. As well as that, most of the places we have visited were pretty empty as you can see in the picture above of me in St. Peters Square. Our seminars were very interesting and focus on our senses and perception of place and space. Professor Coates has helped us re-imagine the way we approach design. I wanted to share some of my favorite photos so far:
Special thanks to my family, friends, and instructors who constantly inspire me to persume my passion of architecture and design.
