Throughout my three years engagement, I have been involved in various phases of development, from drafting comprehensive design packages to compiling tender documents. My expertise includes contributing to concept development, creating detailed designs, and preparing Urban Design Reports and Landscape Analysis Reports through the review of official regulations and legislation documents. My practice in arboriculture has provided me with opportunities to conduct on-site tree inventory and analysis, as well as prepare tree preservation plans.

Park / Recreational
The park block features a triangular shape and covers an area of approximately 1 hectare. Our goal is to establish a fully accessible neighborhood park that offers diverse activity and gathering opportunities for the community while enhancing natural systems. Key elements of the park include a playground area with junior and senior play facilities, a multi-use play court, a well-established pathway system, and a naturalization area.
The proposed park enhancement design includes splash pad and playground replacement, parking lot, internal park pathways, shade structures, site furnishings, and planting. The planning and design of the capital redevelopment of Easton Park will integrate the City of Oshawa’s Parks Design Guidelines and the Oshawa Accessibility Design Standards.
The design considerations for the new neighborhood park encompass a range of features, including a natural playground area, community garden, and trail connections. The pollinator friendly plantings strategies and low-impact development (L.I.D) features amis to create a conducive habitat for pollinators while maximizing on-site water retention.
The design scope centers on honoring veterans while incorporating modern accessible features such as a pet relief area, a charging station, native planting strategies, and a space for social gathering and events. The goal is to create a high-quality outdoor space that fosters community engagement for local residents.
With a focus on improving the site’s urbanscape, the design scope includes enhancing pedestrian flow and on-site water retention through the use of permeable pavers, fostering ecosystem sustainability with native species plantings and extensive greenroof strategies, and promoting accessible outdoor spaces with human-scale furniture and facilities.
The project is part of the long-term plan for the subdivision development. The site falls within the Phase 2 property and is intended to feature a recreational trail & park design, along with an accessible parking lot, a playground area and various seating options, and two soccer fields catering to both junior and senior players. The drawing package including a landscape plan, a grading plan, and a cut & fill plan.
The project involves a comprehensive site inventory and analysis of one of Calgary’s most historic and vibrant commercial streets, with the goal of defining the characteristics of a “Good Street”. The study examines various aspects, including spatial connections, street characteristics, traffic and pedestrian circulation, ground-floor building entrances and permeability, and the integration of appealing street furniture and green spaces.

The project research aims to repurpose “forgotten” rooftop spaces into a platform for research, collaboration, and outdoor practice. By framing the landscape as a stepping stone, this initiative can provide a teaching and experiential medium that enhances the human experience on-site, supports ecosystem establishment, and strengthens the connection between the University of Calgary’s main campus and its surrounding ecosystem.

Regional Landscape
The project explores opportunities to enhance the current agricultural industry at a regional scale in Southern Alberta. Smart Farm 2.0 encompasses a series of strategic, eco-friendly designs aimed at cultivating a dynamic and diverse agricultural landscape. The vision is to increase crop productivity, strengthen farmland resilience through self-rehabilitation and ecosystem restoration, and create a unique, interactive human experience within the agricultural environment.
Situated in the Longgang district of the City of Shenzhen, China, this property, once utilized for light industrial purposes such as food processing plants, is undergoing a transformation. The land use has shifted to accommodate both residential and commercial purposes. Yanlord Land Group, the developer overseeing this project, envisions the creation of a vibrant Live, Work, and Play community tailored for young individuals and investors.
