Data centers help us record culture and history electronically, and new events are generated through human interaction. The proposal explores how community activities can co-exist with the data centre, increasing the vibrancy of the area and supporting small businesses by introducing a handcraft market.
SITE: The site is the Brown & Sharp Manufacturing Company Complex, a historic factory complex originally built between 1872 and 1941. The 25acre area is one of the most significant examples of industrial heritage in Providence.
SITE: This site located at the Northwest of Providence, a river and a railroad cross the side closely, this site is able to be seen from the state house and shopping mall.
Providence goes out of its way to support the small business market, which pops up regularly off South Water Street, and on special holidays like Waterfire and more, the road will be cleared to support the placement of shops.
In order to create a space where the data center and community center coexist, a long walkway was inserted throughout the space, and the three-story height allows people to observe different activities. Then, three two-story-high spaces were created, and the data center separated them, becoming natural barriers to separate various activities. The three spaces are: small business market, gathering and screening center and sports venue. Next, paths are created around the data center to allow people to observe and understand the data center. The third floor is equipped with artists' studios and a sunroom, so that they can get together and chat after work, and they can also sell artworks on the first floor.

This course explored the use of local natural materials for the built environment and rethink the contemporary supply chain from the point of view of a site. Explore how this approach can foster a zero-carbon economy, thinking beyond the building with a systems approach to ask how an “agriculture” of architecture can bolster ecological, economic development for New England.
By using the methodologies of design and environmental studies to investigate how three different types of natural materials—stone, wood and fungus, and field of fibers —function as nodes in intersecting biological, material, cultural, economic, and social networks. The research imagined a landscape intervention on a site in on the Hudson River in New York. The site is a hilly terrain that is now mostly forested with a mixed tree canopy.
This project mainly use two sustainable nature material: Hemplime, which is composed of a mixture created by combining industrial hemp with lime, and a local natural material, bluestone
There are three system in order to save water, since this is a workshop for people to use natual materials. First, gray water tank for collects water from sink and restroom, second, a fiter to sperate the debris from water which used by workshop. Last but not least, rain capture system. All this water will be use for irrigation for hemp field next to the workshop.

To achive sustainability, sun light is a crucial element to take in to consideration. There are 12 solar panels transform sunlight to electricity for workshop daily use. The extented roof blocks sunlignt during summer and invites sunlight in winter, togther with window openings, keep the room in a comfortable temperature.
Throughout the project, I studied the role that geo- bio- materials play in the past and future with a focus on the sustainable use of local natural materials. Investigated building technologies that intersect with industries nearby and engage new approaches to production using on site processing to reduce embodied energy.
This confinement center is established to take better care of puerpera both physically and mentally. There are a lot of mothers in China are sufer from postpartum depression without been notice, so I wish I can creat a space for mothers to feel comfort, not only in physical, but also mentaly.
Reasch: In China, nearly 60 percent of pregnant women developed depressive symptoms after giving birth, and nearly 15 percent of them were diagnosed with postpartum depression. Usually, two weeks after childbirth is a period of the high incidence of postpartum depression, during which the puerpera needs to be well cared for.
Concept: After investigation, I found that due to physical and social factors, postpartum women have doubts about their three identities: female, wife, and mother. This is also a large part of the cause of postpartum depression, so I hope that three different spaces can be created. To rebuild women's perception of these three identities.
Suite: Each family is provided with a livable room with an extended curved wall, allowing them to play games, chat and hold other recreational activities.
Concept: I applied the arc of embrace to the wall design. Compared with linear walls, arcshaped walls can shorten the distance between people, creating an intimate semi-private space.
Plan Formation: I want to break the routine layout of rooms in the confinement center to create freer and public spaces for families to hold their activities, so I stagger the positions of each room and expand or reduce the spaces of each room according to its function. Meanwhile, a circular wall is also added to each room, producing rich visual effects.
Different dislocation of rooms and doors’ opening-direction can enable each suite has a small courtyard and semi-private space for couples. Also, the confinement center has study rooms and massage rooms which are convenient for parents to learn about taking care of their babies and relaxing. Besides, there are a total of five consultation rooms on the first and second floors, which can help those who need to get convenient medical assistance.
In the suite of the confinement center, there are often different people come to visit. However, according to the survey, the puerpera often does not have enough energy yo cope with social issues due to fatigue after childbirth. In this case, since these arc-shaped spaces are not only independent of the suite but also gain a certain degree of privacy, therefore they can provide couples with their own small, undisturbed spaces.
The study room is for mother and father to study how to take care of babies, including changing diper, feeding babies, ect, at the same time, the woman can see how the man take the responsibility and try to learn how to take care of babies.

When they want to have time just for themselves, here is the space that they can escape to.
In a society where consumerism holds sway, this project unveils the intricate web of influence that surrounds us, revealing how architecture becomes for the theater of consumption. It beckons us to confront the powerful forces that shape our desires, provoking us to question the relentless pursuit possessions and the toll it takes on our lives. By peeling back the layers of manipulation and exposing the deceptive allure of consumerism, we quest for authenticity, seeking to reclaim our identities and rediscover what truly matters in a world captivated by the allure of the next purchase.

Ties to impression: The presented space illustrates a single product from multiple brands, showcasing the intricate details of diverse marketing strategies employed by each brand to establish a sense of uniqueness for their respective products.
Obsolescence: This space interacts with existing fast fashion and smart devices shops next to it, each time they sell an item, there will be a package sent to the conveyor belt, showing the speed of the product's update.
Inescapable: There are staircases going up and down, the placement of fake shops facing the staircases correspondingly go up and down, creates an inescapable environment where advertising constantly surrounds consumers.
Imagination: Reaching the top floor, visitors are greeted with a captivating image, but as they approach slowly from the other side, they discover the chaotic backside of the sculpture, mirroring the often-disillusioning experiences consumers encounter in activities that are popular on social media.
Surveillance: Multiple escalators create a hierarchy of surveillance, visitors on the upper floors’ escalator observe lower floors, visitors on the escalator observe people in other experiential spaces, to visualize how easy it is to monitor consumers.
Lottery-style: marketing, such as that used by Pop Mart and Genshin, each item costs small investment, but the process mimics gambling, as consumers are enticed to spend more money in hopes of obtaining their desired items. There are several cylinders in the room, by interacting with it visitors able to obtain a ball, with only a limited number of them being colorful while the majority remain white, when visitors come to the second floor where the cylinder became transparent, enabling a visual comparison between the white and colorful balls, indicating the possibility for achieve desired item by lottery- style marketing.
Over-packaging:The juxtaposition between the frame structure and the cone symbolically represents the relationship between package size and the actual volume of the product being showcased.
Creating connections: brands foster connection through interaction, strengthen connections between fans and idol/ influencers, increasing Impulse spending, visitors engage with screen images to progress to the next floor, and upon exiting, they carry with them the image they feel most connected to, mirroring the emotional attachments people form with celebrities and idols.
"One more thing": mentality takes hold among consumers browsing clothing options. Shoppers believe there is always one more item they need to buy, resulting in impulse purchases and the continuous acquisition of products. Using multiple floors and rooms to replicate a shelf-like environment. However, strategically placing an inaccessible corner within this space serves to symbolize the insatiable craving for acquiring additional possessions.
This breakfast shop is divided into a large number of plants and reasonable functions to provide an enjoyable breakfast experience as the beginning of a vibrant day. This project is located at the ShaPingBa subway station,Chongqing university. Many people go to work and many students go to school through this subway, but they are usually rushing to their destination and scrambling for breakfast.

SITE INTERVENTION: There is a bus stop in front of the breakfast shop, bicycle stops in the back, and a light rail station on the top. You can easily access these traffic points after eating at the breakfast shop.
Hot and cold dishes are set up in the kitchen, customers in the queue can see the busy scene of the kitchen where cold dishes are prepared, making it looks more lively.
INTERIOR INTERVENTION:In the interior, I used a lot of wood and concrete materials to create a natural and intimate feeling, and set up different areas to place the plants within the customer's line of sight, in contrast to the outdoors, so that customers can enjoy breakfast in the greenery.
In 2022, RISD students studying exhibition design used state-of-the-art virtual reality (VR) to bring to life the designs developed in the Crossing the Pell studio. We hope you will enjoy the experience of pedaling through four student design concepts on stationary bikes that respond to your movements, while a VR headset shows a structure that has been utterly transformed to feature people-powered access I was in charge of designing the wire layout of the exhibition, co-designed the feedback wall in the feedback group, and participating in the design of the exhibition plan, constructing the structures and buliding it in the Old Colony House, assisting visitors to explore the exhibition.

Protect the Building: This exhibition located at the old colony house, Newport, a 400 years old historical building at Newport. This building has a long history, so the difficulty of the exhibition is to ensure the VR/AR exhibition experience while ensuring that all devices are not connected to the building. All nails are prohibited.
The custom-made table hasthe introduction of the student projects. By scanning specific patterns, four designed AR the Pell Bridge can be seen on the ipad. There is a lower bench on one side, so that children able to see the bridge, but also for visitors to sit.
Plan: After the visitor enters from the entrance, the left side is the instruction of the exhibition, and the right side is the reception desk. Because of the particularity of the VR/AR exhibition, every visitor needs assistance, so that every visitor can be guaranteed to be received. After entering, you can see the AR EXPLORE directly, and you can have a deeper understanding of this exhibition. After that, you can go to the Pano tour or VR Bicycle Tour to have an in-depth tour of the students' works.
