Making a mass movement and making them think requires a considerable amount of effort. The same can be achieved rather effortlessly through social media. The said topic is nothing but environmental sustainability. Now, words similar to this make people ponder whether it is about reducing pollution or restricting the population from doing certain things. However, that is untrue since this is where the word Optimisation comes into the picture.
Thus, it is our responsibility to use non-renewable sources of energy judiciously and let our future generations also have a crack at these sources of energy. In the meantime, we can educate the common public about how to optimize their use of non-renewable resources. It doesn’t mean that people should cease their use ultimately, instead, pick meaningful alternatives to conserve the energy sources. As an example, if someone has to travel a distance of 2 kilometres, it’d be much more effective to use public transport or a bicycle instead of going for a personal motorised vehicle like a bike or a car.
At ďŹ rst, people might not understand the depth of this situation resulting in misunderstandings and scuffles, at times. It is all about spreading awareness through social media and then trickling it into our educational setups. The use of social media for the same can be rather fruitful since people like engaging stuff and ďŹ nd sharing a lot easier than in real life. Educational institutions can piggyback on the presence that has been created by the social media channels to good effect and welcome people to learn more about the sustainability of our environment.
