SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD’S EARLY LEARNING AT HOME: ASHLEY MANOR At Ashley Manor Preparatory, we focus on building fine motor skills and early literacy in the Early Years through engaging, hands-on activities. STRENGTHENING FINE MOTOR SKILLS Fine motor skills are crucial for tasks like writing and everyday activities.

Encourage these fun activities at home: Playdough & Dough Disco – Strengthens fingers and hand muscles.

Threading & Beading – Improves handeye coordination.

Scissor Skills – Let your child cut paper or pictures.

Building with LEGO & Blocks – Builds grip and control.

At Ashley Manor Preparatory, we use activities like forming letters in coloured sand with paintbrushes to help children develop fine motor skills in a fun, sensory-rich way.
