Work Experience- Year 11 Work Experience can strengthen a student’s CV, and if they are thinking of applying to university, some professional credibility will look great on a UCAS personal statement. In a recent survey by the UK Commission for Employment & Skills, 66% of employers say work experience is a significant or crucial factor in their recruitment.

Careers Service at Wycombe High School Wycombe High School`s Careers Service is here to inspire and support students in helping them get to where they want to be in school and beyond. The Careers Service includes the following support and guidance: •

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploa ds/attachment_data/file/404997/15.02.18._Youth_repo rt_V17.pdf We strongly recommend that Year 11 students, complete a placement during work experience week ( 3 - 7 July 2017 ) as it plays an essential role in the development of self-confidence, interpersonal skills and future employability. Past experience suggests that the most enjoyable and successful placements are those sourced by the students themselves. We are therefore encouraging students to source their own placements, with support from the school, if required. Students can access support for work experience on Wednesday lunchtimes from 1.45 – 2.20 pm in the Careers Library. The following websites advertise work placements and are highly recommended;

Year 12 students are also strongly encouraged to use one of their half term holidays to pursue a work placement.
