Eligibility Criteria for Engineering in SRM Chennai Eligibility Pass in 10+2 (Higher Secondary) examination or any other equivalent examination recognized

by SRMIST with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). Some specializations like Computer Science or Bioengineering might require a higher minimum percentage (e.g., 60%).

OR Pass a 3-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology with an aggregate of 60% marks in the relevant specialization from a recognized university/college.

Entrance Exams:  SRMJEEE (SRM Joint Entrance Examination): This is the university’s own entrance exam conducted for admission to various engineering programs. Taking SRMJEEE is not mandatory, but it can improve your chances of getting a seat.  JEE Main: While not mandatory for direct admission through SRMJEEE/SAT, a good score in JEE Main can be considered for scholarship opportunities.

Other Requirements: 

Indian nationality or OCI/PIO cardholders are eligible.

Age limit for UG programs is usually 21 years (relaxations might apply for reserved categories).

Create an account: Visit the SRMJEEE application portal Click on “New Registration” and create an account by providing your basic information and contact details.

Fill out the application form: Once logged in, access the application form and fill in all required details carefully. This includes academic qualifications, personal information, program selection, and entrance exam scores (if applicable).

Upload documents: Scan and upload copies of all necessary documents, such as mark sheets, certificates, and scorecards. Ensure the file formats and sizes comply with the guidelines mentioned.

Pay the application fee: Choose your preferred payment method (online or offline) and pay the application fee. The fee varies depending on the program and category you belong to.

Submit the application: Review your application thoroughly before final submission. Once confirmed, click on the “Submit” button to complete the process.

Selection Process for Engineering Entrance Exam-based Selection:  

Some programs may require scores in national entrance exams like JEE Main. Check the program details carefully to understand the specific requirement.  If needed, register and take the relevant entrance exam(s) and aim for a good score.

Merit List and Counselling:  Based on the application details, entrance exam scores (if applicable), and program preferences, SRM will prepare a merit list for each program.  The merit list ranks candidates based on their overall score, giving priority to higher scores.  Counselling rounds will be conducted for eligible candidates to choose their preferred program and campus based on their rank and seat availability.

Fee Payment and Document Verification:  Once assigned a seat in your preferred program, you need to pay the required fees within the specified deadline.

Submit all necessary documents for verification to finalize your admission.

Enrollment and Orientation:  Once the admission process is complete, you can register and enroll in the program.  Attend the orientation session to get familiar with the university, program specifics, and student life. 
