Who is Vicky Kaushal?
Vicky Kaushal was born on 16 May 1988 in a chawl in Malad, Mumbai. His family is originally from Hoshiarpur, Punjab. His father, Sham Kaushal was an action director. Due to their poor financial conditions, his father didn’t want him to do unstable business and was very keen on his studies. During an Industrial visit to an IT company during his graduation, Vicky realised he had no interest in o ce deeds. He decided to make a career in the film industry.
Vicky started studying acting at Kishore Namit Kapoor’s academy, simultaneously working in theatre with Manav Kaul’s Aranya group and Nasruddin Shah’s Motley productions.
Vicky entered the film industry as an Assistant Director to Anurag Kashyap in Gangs of Wasseypur. His debut film was Anurag Kashyap’s Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana (2012), and he did a minor role in that film. Then he did some minor roles in Bombay Velvet (2015), and the short film Geek Out (2013).
His first leading role was in Masaan (2015), a drama film directed by Neeraj Ghaywan.
