A MESSAGE FROM Interim President Philip Way

Since I joined the Rock family in 2013, we’ve accomplished much together. We have received many accolades from U.S. News & World Report, The Princeton Review and Money Magazine, to name a few.

We led the State System schools in achievement on performance indicators three times. We implemented new programs to meet the needs of our students and potential employers – 15 new academic fields of study since 2013.

I am especially thankful that with your help, private support to the University increased 32 percent.

In 2016-17, 4200 donors made gifts to benefit Slippery Rock University. And giving to Slippery Rock University exceeded $2.7 million.

We used these funds to provide more scholarships, more research opportunities and more programmatic support, allowing SRU to attract and retain the best and brightest students from across the nation.

Slippery Rock University is growing now more than ever.

Your support is an important vote of confidence in SRU and allows us to continue to offer an exceptional and affordable education while achieving local and national recognition.

Raise the Rock, Slippery Rock University’s annual giving campaign, helped to generate over $400,000 in private support for SRU last year.

Gifts of all sizes, to all areas across campus, help more students experience the difference of a Rock Solid education.

Your support helped Slippery Rock University to celebrate the largest enrollment in its history when 8,881 students began classes in the Fall 2016 semester.

Annual Giving at Slippery Rock University includes thousands of gifts from SRU’s loyal alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends. In fact, last year close to 5,000 individuals chose to support The Rock through annual donations. The contributions benefit every aspect of life at the university – from scholarships to computer and laboratory equipment, course development, student research projects, student abroad opportunities, athletics, clubs and organizations, and so much more. THE LIFETIME GIVING Society The Lifetime Giving Society at SRU was created to recognize the support and involvement of our most dedicated alumni and friends. Members of the Lifetime Giving Society are the philanthropic leaders of the University whose gifts have made a tremendous impact on the institution and our students.
