O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is your name in all the earth. You have set your glory above the heavens Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength, to still the mouths of the enemy and the avenger. When I look at the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is your name in all the earth (from Ps 8) We gather in the Majestic Name of God: Father, Son + and Holy Sprit. Amen. The Traditional Advent prayers The Lord be with you. and also with you! Stir up your power, O Lord, and come, that by your protection we may be rescued from the threatening perils of our sins and be saved by your mighty deliverance; See our King comes to us, righteous and having salvation! Stir up our hearts, O Lord, and make ready the way of your Only-begotten Son, that at his second coming we may be ready to worship him in purity; Restore us, O God, and make your face shine on us, and we will be saved! Stir up our minds, O Lord, as you did those who first heard John the Baptist crying out in the wilderness; grant that we, too, may know this great salvation and serve you in holiness and righteousness all the days of our lives; Show us your unfailing love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation! Stir up your Kingdom, O Lord, and come among us with great might as our King; by your grace and mercy help and deliver us; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen!
