ABOUT UNIVERSITY CEPT University or Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology is an institution for higher studies. Moreover, it is located in Ahmadabad, Gujrat. Basically, the institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs related to Environmental Planning, Sustainable habitat construction, etc.

Firstly, the Ahmadabad Education Society founded the university in 1962. In total, it comprises five faculties; namely, related to the area of Architecture, Design, Management, Technology, and Planning. Later, the Government of Gujarat approved CEPT as a university in 2005. Above all, the UGC gave it its recognition in the year 2007. Moreover, the university is awarded as the best university of Gujarat in providing E-learning and ranked 4th for Architecture by NIRF 2020.

HISTORY In 1962, The Ahmadabad Education Society established the Centre for Environment Planning & Technology as the School of Architecture. Then, in the years 1972, 1982, and 1991, it started many other schools. Moreover, the establishment took place with the contribution of the Ministry of HRD, the Ford Foundation, and the Government of Gujarat.

In fact, the institute was autonomous until 2002 and awarded its own diploma. Until then, only AICTE had recognized it. Moreover, the CEPT was also affiliated with Hemachandracharya North Gujarat University from 2002 to 2005. Finally, in 2005, it was recognized as a university under the CEPT University Act, 2005.

Later, in 2010, the name of the university changed to "CEPT University".

COURSES OFFERED Bachelors: Foundationally, the CEPT University offers many courses at the undergraduate level in various streams. For instance, the streams which the university offers are Architecture, Planning, Interior Design, etc.

Masters: Similarly, the CEPT University offers many Post-graduate courses. For instance, Masters in Architectural Design, Masters in Architectural History, Masters in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Urban housing, Geomatics, Construction, Furniture Design, Interior Design, Urban Management, etc, and many more are options.

Ph.D.: Finally, for the Ph.D. courses, the candidate has to get his Master’s degree from a reputed University. Moreover, he/she should have a minimum of 55% marks in his Master’s degree. The CEPT University offers a Doctorate in, Architecture, Planning, etc.

Library The name of the library at CEPT University is Lilavati Lalbhai Library. In fact, it has facilities like OPAC, Reading Room, Reprography and Scanning tools, etc. Moreover, it gives access to over 100 online and print Journals. Besides, the library has a collection of one it's kind of about 4,500 drawings of research.

Laboratories Whereas the library is important for academic knowledge, the lab is necessary for practical training. Hence, the CEPT University has many functional and well-equipped labs on its campus. Moreover, this lab work is counted as well in a student’s academic report. Consequently, there are many labs in the university. For instance, there are computer labs, transportation labs, environment science labs, ceramic labs, digital fabrication labs, etc.

Other facilities Apart from the above-mentioned facilities, there are other amenities as well. For instance, the campus of CEPT University has a Canteen, South Indian food Court, Stationery Shop, Printshop, etc. besides, there are many workshops as well. Specifically, there are Wood and Metal Workshop, Paper Workshop, etc.
