Hands-on-Workshop on NGS sample preparation and data analysis: 18th-20th December 2019: Call for Applications IBAB is organizing a 3-day hands-on-workshop on Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) from the 18th to 20th December 2019. The workshop combines both experimental and computational aspects of NGS. The focus is on (1) the preparation of libraries from poly-A mRNA, with critical discussions and troubleshooting sessions, and quantification and quality control of the libraries prepared and (2) RNA seq data analysis using ‘R’ tools. Target Participants: The course is aimed at researchers, technicians who wish to employ genomic approaches in their work. Ph.D. scholars/postdoctoral fellows/JRFs/faculty involved in relevant research are eligible to apply. The course is beneficial to also those pursuing B.Sc./ B.Tech./ M.Sc./ M.Tech. in Biotechnology/Life Sciences/ Microbiology/ Biosciences/ Bioinformatics who wish to apply NGS technology. Teachers from undergraduate and postgraduate teaching institutions and research institutes across the state of Karnataka are also encouraged to apply to the workshop. Bio-IT Centre has state-of-art sequencing facility with the HiSeq 2500 and accessories such as Qubit, Covaris, Agilent 2200 TapeStation, Stratagene Mx 3000 for nextgeneration sequencing, 3500 Dx Genetic Analyzer for capillary electrophoresis based sequencing, and HiScan for microarray imaging.
