FRESHWATER Fisheries management Conflict between ecoguards and community members fishing in the rivers that border Salonga National Park was common prior to last year. However, on April 15, 2021, the Director General ICCN signed a letter of exemption, which was the first official recognition of the communities’ right to fish in these rivers. The Park management unit issued the news to all communities through local radio stations.
