DEAR STUDENTS For kids, writing a journal is not only to write about what we just did or, have already done, but also to selfexplore and keep expressing our life aspects through our fingers. It is but natural that we may not be able to write grammatically correct at first. Initially it could be a good idea to express our ideas using illustrations drawing pictures and using colours to express ourselves. Imagining and writing short stories or cartoons expressing our thoughts and ideas. Remember students, “Practice makes perfect.” By getting thoughts out of our head and writing them down on pieces of paper, moreover, providing them with a chance to write something, especially a journal, gives kids a safe place to have fun with our creativity and to improve our writing abilities and other skills.

Enjoy writing! Foreign Language Department Teachers

Writing Tips #1 5 Writing Tips

1. HAVE A PLAN You need to roughly plan your time and your essay outline. The most important thing is that you get your initial ideas down. Check these against any assessment criteria, learning outcomes and other information you have gathered and add or delete anything that does not fit in. 2. REVISE AND EDIT YOUR WRITING Please remember that your first draft should NOT be your final draft. Sometimes, you need to step away from your writing for a few hours or days after you have finished and come back later to look at it with fresh, new eyes and head. Only then can you see new ways to make your writing better. PAGE

3. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR You can easily ruin your own essay by having too many spelling or grammatical mistakes. Make sure to double check your spelling and grammar and have someone else reread it for you in case they pick up something you have missed if it helps. 4. WRITE EVERY DAY This sounds very boring but it does help! It takes time and lots of practice to become a really good writer. The more you practice writing, the better you will become. PAGE
