The Sam Fox School offers three primary degree paths in the COLLEGE OF ART : studio art, communication design, and fashion design. The kinds of engagement and the paths our students take are expansive; they take full advantage of the university. As examples, we have students studying studio art and biology, fashion design and sociology, and communication design and human-computer interaction. Studio is a place for collaboration and creative development. Our students are supportive of one another and engaged with social issues and the community. You’ll learn to make original visual work with technical and conceptual depth. Our expansive facilities, including wood and metal shops, a ceramics shop, a digital fabrication lab, a printmaking studio, a photo darkroom, and a time-based media lab, will support your creative endeavors. You’ll work with faculty who are recognized in their fields, nationally and internationally.
Many of our graduates become prominent artists and designers. Others harness the creative thinking they learn while pursuing rewarding careers in business, law, medicine, publishing, and writing.
