19th Annual Jack and Barry Kayes Lectureship in Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences Endowed and established in 2001 by Dr. Jack and Mrs. Barry Kayes to honor their lifelong commitment to academic excellence and to science.

There are no restrictions on the subject matter of the lectureship.

Dr. Jack Kayes received his medical degree and performed his residency at Washington University. His wife, Barry, received her master’s degree from Washington University.

After his Fellowship at the prestigious Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Dr. Jack Kayes joined a premier ophthalmology group in St. Louis of Drs. B. Y. and Edmond Alvis. That practice was started by Henry Wolfner, and has included many graduates of the Washington University Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
