WHO WE ARE Washburn Student Media is a dynamic student-run media organization that produces high-quality, professional publications including the Washburn Review and the Indigo magazine.

By advertising with us, you aren’t just buying space, you are supporting and encouranging the next generation of journalists, content creators, designers and broadcasters.

Student Media exists to give all students from across the campus a voice and access to information free from censorship. Our organization reaches Washburn students and faculty from every background and major.

We have a wide variety of advertising options to fit every business’ needs.

POLICIES Scheduling & Submission Deadlines All ad materials and full payment must be submitted at least 2 days before the intended run date. Late submissions may result in delayed placement or cancellation without a refund.

Prepayment & Invoicing Terms Payment is required before publication and must be completed by the submission deadline in order for the ad to run. An invoice will be sent once the ad details are confirmed. Payments can be made by check or cash. For checks, please make the payment under Washburn Student Media.

Review & Approval Process All ad submissions are reviewed by the Washburn Student Media marketing team prior to publication.

Cancellations & Corrections Advertising cancellations for a refund must be made before the space reservation deadline. If an error is made by Washburn Student Media, please contact our office promptly so we can make the necessary correction.

Advertising Policy All advertising is subject to the approval of the Washburn Student Media marketing team. We reserve the right to refuse any advertisement that does not comply with our advertising policy. A copy of the policy is available upon request.

Format All posts for Instagram and Facebook should be in 4:5 format. For other ads the sized should be adjusted to the specific pixels as mentioned on the pages per advertisement.

Artwork All logo must be in PNG format. All graphics must be PDF or JPEG. All artwork must be approved 2 days before the publication date. *We charge a $50 fee for in-house designs and reels.

Newsstands across the Washburn campus provide various touch points in high-traffic areas, allowing advertisers to have their products and services seen by students, faculty and staff multiple times daily.

Street Teams Your flyers handed out in high-traffic on-campus locations Street teams interact face-to-face with your target audience in busy campus locations.

Our team will create positive, student-to-student interactions to build brand awareness and associate your product with a real person.
