Pi7u Bamboo Monument
This Bamboo Monument is an idea that produces a design that means achievement, innovation and sustainability at the Faculty of Engineering, University of North Sumatra (USU).
The seven departments within the FT USU (Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,IndustrialEngineering,ChemicalEngineering, ArchitecturalEngineering, andEnvironmentalEngineering) are symbolized through the seven bamboo frames that form the entire lantern frame. These seven frames are anchored to the middle frame, making it a single unit. Not
This monument was designed with the concept of sustainability. Sustainability is realized in the use of bamboo as an environmentally friendly construction material.Constructionmaterialsmadefrombambooplants arefoundinmanytropicalareassuchasIndonesia.Bamboo has its own advantages compared to wood because bamboo is easier to develop than wood, is resilient, has highelasticity, iseasytoshape, andisrelativelycheaper.
