Produced by Watford Palace Theatre, Whipped Up! follows Dottie, an eager-to-please 50s-style diner server on their first day on the job – where the baby is the customer, and caregivers are along for the ride. As the server waits on their “demanding” clientele (imagine babies doing what babies do best – creating adorable chaos!), the server grows increasingly frazzled – and more entertaining!

EUROPEAN AERIAL DANCE FESTIVAL 2025

The European Aerial Dance Festival (EADF) is an inclusive, 2-week intensive aerial training for everyone from beginner to professional. With over 30 classes a day to choose from, all led by world-class teaching talent, it’s not to be missed.

A powerful, immersive production that delves into the hidden world of county lines and crime. Blending dynamic physical theatre, gripping storytelling, and evocative visuals, Code explores the complex realities faced by young people caught in cycles of exploitation and violence. This thought-provoking performance shines a light on the human stories behind the headlines, challenging perceptions and inspiring conversations about resilience, choice, and hope. She’s got news she wasn’t expecting. Step into the salon, where Cocoon, a daring aerial theatre piece, intricately weaves Black salon culture with the complexities of disability. Through humour, pop culture, and hairdryers, it celebrates resilience, joy, and the vulnerable moments we share.

Created by Farrell Cox, whose autobiographical solo show Ambivalence was praised by Lyn Gardner as: “So well thought through in every aspect.”

FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE

Florence Nightingale, daughter of a wealthy British family, knew early on in her life that she wanted to help others. We will not only discuss how she became The Lady with the Lamp but also how she contributed to making hospitals safer and transformed nursing into a respectable profession for women. While most famous for being the founder of modern nursing, Florence was also a social reformer and statistician, writing widely on all three subjects.

QUEEN VICTORIA

Queen Victoria was crowned at the young age of 18, and her reign lasted 63 years. She had to learn how to rule during a period of immense change which saw a great expansion of the British Empire and did so as the strong and powerful woman she had to become. Throughout her life, however, there were men by her side who played an important role, each in their certain way. We will examine those relationships and how they influenced Victoria’s life as the queen and as a woman.

We will have a look at the extremely interesting life and career of this great actress and very special woman who to this day moves audiences to tears and laughter with her wonderful natural personality.

Step Back in Time with Our 2025 Archaeology Walks

Unearth the stories beneath your feet with 11 fascinating archaeology walks running from April to August. Explore ancient landscapes with expert archaeologist James Sainsbury, who will bring history to life with genuine artefacts from museum collections—handle treasures right where they were discovered!

From gentle strolls to challenging climbs, there’s a walk for everyone. Bring water, a snack for Tuesday and Saturday sessions, and your four-legged friend (on a lead).

Highlights include:

• Highdown Hill (2 miles, Easy): Enjoy sweeping views and local lore. (15 Apr, 5 Jul, 10 Jul)

Phil has been principal organist at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom since 1977. He tours the UK and internationally from October to May each year when he starts back at the Tower Ballroom for the summer season. He has recived numerous awards including an MBE in the 2012 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to music.
