NEWS FROM WSIADA

News from WSIADA By Rick Olson

I

t’s been an interesting first quarter of 2021 for the

Association and our dealerships in Washington State. With the loss of our Executive Director, Todd C. Elliott, in December to cancer, the office staff has continued to fulfill Todd’s plan until our new Executive Director, Brian Dansel, has joined us.

Dealerships in Washington State have had a rough year from the COVID-19 pandemic, many were unfortunate to being forced to close business entirely while others held on by sheer will. The recovery is slowly coming. Inventory is one of the most difficult business items dealerships are needing.

again in Spokane and Seattle. This is depending on the phase status to allow for a large group to meet safely. Should this option be unavailable, we will switch to a online webinar format similar to the Education Fair 2020 to ensure dealerships have access to the speakers and their education opportunities.

Auctions like DAA Northwest/ DAA Seattle are returning to inlane auctions with vehicles running through the lanes much to the enjoyment of the dealerships in the area but the auctions will continue to provide digital sales for dealerships.

We have confirmed the Washington Attorney General’s office and Department of Licensing will be speaking during this event. Other speakers will be announced as we confirm. Registration for the events is available on WSIADA.com

Education Fair is in the planning stages for this year. We are hoping to provide the in-person meetings

We hope to have more details available to dealers soon.
