An interview with Alhadi Ali Mohammad, a migrant from Sudan by Diana Cruz, SCM Colombia* First of all my history is very long and complicated, but I will try to summarize. My name is Alhadi Ali Mohammad and I come from Sudan. I came to Italy about 8 years ago. I did my studies in my country, but in Italy, they do not recognize the degree I obtained. In Sudan, I studied Arabic, the language spoken only in my family, so when I came to this country, I studied Italian and enrolled in school to finish my studies. Now I am enrolled at the University of Turin in the Economics Faculty. I am a migrant. I still remember when I left Sudan traveling through the desert to reach Libya. There I stayed for a long time, I was 16 years old then. I had to return to my house, where I spent a month. My country was at war and I decided to run away again because as a young man, I had to perform compulsory military service, they were looking for
