Common Sources of Bluetooth Interference
• Bluetooth range is approximately 30 feet and is all relative to the environment. There is a higher risk for Bluetooth
• Nearby sources of Wi-Fi (routers, modems, wireless access points, etc.)
interference when there is more wireless activity and/or
• Microwaves
physical barriers present. • Potential barriers, from higher to lower risk include:
• Coaxial cables and connectors used with some satellite dishes • Other smartphones
Metal (walls, office materials, elevators)
• Wireless cameras

• Wireless speakers
Water, Brick, or Marble
• Automatic lights
• In these environments, reduce the distance from phone to hearing aids and the number of apps/functions occurring on the phone. • Bluetooth streaming can be impacted from being outdoors. When outdoors, avoid putting your phone in your pocket or purse. • Bluetooth is stronger when it does not have to travel through the body. Consider moving the phone from a pant pocket to a shirt pocket or armband especially when outdoors. If sitting at a desk or table, rest the phone on the table.
